2017 Walk With GRACE Results

It was another record setting year at the 14th annual Walk with GRACE at Krouskop Park Friday evening, August 11th.

Many attended to celebrate the culmination of a year of fundraising, to honor those who have and are battling cancer, and to remember those who are no longer with us, but are not forgotten. Before the first lap, during the opening ceremony, it was announced that the communities support of GRACE over the past 14 years had raised $3,000,000. By the time things wrapped up last night, it was announced that this year's total thus far is a remarkable, $273,918.20. That total does not include funds raised from the silent auction.

The evening included 102 survivors who registered at this year's walk totaling 1,147.5 years of survivorship. The average length of survivorship of all those registered was 11.8 years with the longest being 42 years followed by 41 years.

Besides lots of food and refreshments, and the announcement of the winner of the traveling trophy for the best decorated team site, which went to Faith, Family & Friends for the third year in a row. The evening ended with the Luminary Ceremony which featured over 1,000 names followed by the closing ceremony.

After all the hard work of the citizens of the Greater Richland County area, sales of luminaries and raffle tickets, and the many donations collected, this year's Walk with GRACE total as of last night (Friday) is $273,918.20. This does not include the proceeds from the silent auction which will also be added in. If anyone would still like to make a donation to this years Walk with GRACE money collected through the end of August will be added to this year's total. Donations may be dropped off at Richland County Bank.
