Red Flag Warning
It's another dry day (Wednesday) in Wisconsin -- and the risk of wildfires keeps getting larger. The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for most of the Badger State from noon-until-eight p-m today. That triggers a ban on open burning in those areas, and folks are encouraged not to smoke outside. The warnings cover most of the western two-thirds of Wisconsin. Forecasters say humidities will be as low as 10-percent today, with winds gusting to 30-miles-an-hour with temperatures in the 60's-and-70's. Forecasters say our next real chance for rain is on Sunday. In Sauk County, authorities found a body while fighting a forest fire yesterday afternoon in the town of Dellona near Lyndon Station. The body was found behind a house. The state D-N-R and Sauk County sheriff's deputies are investigating. On Monday, over 200-acres were burned in what was called the "Railroad Fire" west of Necedah in Juneau County. The D-N-R said no structures were damaged, but a fire-fighter was treated for smoke inhalation.
