Wednesday, February 10

The Brewer Public Library will be hosting Everybody Storytime on Wednesday and Friday morning from 10:30-11:00. Everybody Storytime is open to all children ages 6 and under. Children will have the opportunity to read books, sing songs, count, learn numbers and make a simple craft to take home.

 

The Richland County Health and Human Services-Public Health will hold an immunization clinic at the Community Services building on Wednesday, February 10, from 1:00-4:00. This clinic is for children who are covered by Badgercare or who have no vaccine coverage.

 

The Tops meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 10, at 4:30 at the Brewer Public Library has been cancelled.

 

The Richland Hospital will hold a Gordy's Market Grocery Store Tour For Healthy Eating, on Wednesday, February 10, from 6:00-7:00. A registered Dietitian will give the tour.

 

The Muscoda Snow Sports Snowmobile Club presents the Snowmobile Fun Run running through Saturday, February 13. Proceeds from the event will go to GRACE and the Snowmobile Club Scholarship Fund. Cost is a $10 donation per entry card. There will be a silent auction at the event as well. If you have any questions call 739-3211.

 

Any persons age 15-21 who would like to learn more about the Fire Explorer program through the Richland Center Fire Department, is encouraged to call the Fire Station at 647-4556. Firefighters will be happy to arrange a convenient time for youth and/or their families to tour the station and learn more about the Explorer program.

 

Thursday, February 11

The Boscobel Girls Basketball Club will be holding a Breakfast for Dinner event on Thursday, February 11 from 4:30-7:00 at the Boscobel High School. Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for kids, with children under 6 getting in free. Carry outs are available by calling 485-0572.

 

Friday, February 12

The Women's Relief Corps will be holding a bake sale on Friday, February 12, at 9:00 at the Richland County Bank. Funds raised will go to the Boscobel Museum.

 

Golden Living Center Riverdale in Muscoda will host a Valentine's Cake Walk Fundraiser on Friday, February 12th at 2:30 pm at 1000 North Wisconsin Avenue. Funds will go to the Resident Council. Cost is $.50 to play.

 

Homecoming 2016 at the University of Wisconsin-Richland is set for Saturday, March 5, on the UW-Richland campus. This year alumni athletes are invited to register for and participate in the alumni women's volleyball and alumni men's basketball contests. Registration is due by February 12. Registration details can be found in the most recent alumni newsletter which is available via the UW-Richland website. Post-game activities will include bean bag and pool tournaments.

 

Saturday, February 13

The Brewer Public Library invites all youth and their families to attend their Super Saturday event on Saturday,February 13, from 10:30-12:30. Participants are welcome to drop in anytime between to create February themed crafts and participate in fun activities. This event is free and open to all ages.

 

The 4th Annual Jump to Help event will be on Saturday, February 13, from 10:00-5:00 at the Blaine Gym in Boscobel. Jump to Help is an indoor bounce house fundraiser for the In Health Community Wellness free clinic in Boscobel.

 

A Walk With Grace Paint Party will be on Saturday, February 13, from 11:00-3:00 at Studio Art Supply in downtown Richland Center. Cost is $40 and includes the cost of canvas, instruction, and painting supplies. There will also be a chili lunch.  Cost for the lunch is $7. Call to reserve your spot at Studio Art Supply at 649-3000.

 

The Richland Center Seventh Day Adventist Church is hosting a C.R.E.A.T.I.O.N Health Seminar on Saturdays running from now through March 12. The seminar will run from 4:00-5:00 PM each Saturday. There will be a cooking demo and food sampling each night.

 

Muskets and Memories will be hosting their final Chili Supper and Auction on Saturday, February 13, at Boscobel Bowl and Banquet starting at 4:30 PM. The auction begins at 6:00 PM. Cost is $5 per person and $3 for children 12 and under.

 

Sunday, February 14

The Riverdale Wrestling Club is hosting a youth dual team tournament on Sunday, February 14. Wrestling starts at 9:30 in the Riverdale Elementary/Middle School Gym. Grades 4K-8 will be wrestling. There will be concession stand sponsored by the Wrestling Club. The club will also be hosting door prizes and a silent auction. Winners will be announced between round 3 and 4 of wrestling.

 

The Richland Center Rodeo Committee will hold an 8 Pin Tap Bowling on Sunday, February 14, at the Phoenix Center. There will be three shifts available: 10:00, 12:30, and 3:00. To sign up call Dean at 604-4692 or Kenda at 475-1886. A sign up sheet will also be available at the Phoenix Center on February 7th. Money raised from the event will go to rodeo contestant scholarships and awards.

 

The 36th Annual Avoca & Rural Fire Department Fisheree will take place on Sunday, February 14, at 8:00 AM at the Avoca Community Building. Door Prizes will be from 8:00 until gone. Other events include a Bake Sale at 11:00, a Euchre Tournament at 12:00, Meat Paddles at 12:00 and an auction at 3:00.

 

The First Lutheran Church of Lone Rock will host a Roast Beef & Pork Dinner on Sunday, February 14, from 11:00-1:00.

 

The Richland County Fairgrounds Improvement Committee, Inc. will hold a Sweetheart Steak Dinner on Sunday, February 14, from 11:00-2:00 at the Wallace Student Center Cafeteria on the UW-Richland Campus. Cost is $12 and carry outs will be available.

 

The Hillsboro Lions Club will hold Lions Bingo at the Hillsboro Fireman's Community Center on Sunday, February 14, at 1:00.

 

Monday, February 15

The Richland Center Santa Teresa Sister City Project will hold its annual meeting on Monday, February 15 in the downstairs Pippin Room at the Richland Hospital. The meeting starts with a potluck supper at 6:00 with a slide show to be held at 7:00. The public is invited to attend.

 

Hunters Education Class will begin on Monday, February 15, at the Richland Center High School. Class will run from 6:00-8:00 PM. The dates of the class include February 15th-17th, 19th, 22nd and 23rd. Pre-registration, a customer id number and $10 course fee will be required. Tuesday, February 16

The Richland Center Women's Connection will hold a breakfast buffet on Tuesday, February 16 at the White House. The event will start at 9:15. Guest speaker Rita Ford from Illinois will give a speech titled "Tie That Binds." Call Beth Ann at 647-5491 or Phyllis at 536-3762 to make your reservation for the buffet.

 

A Diabetes Class on Foot Care will be held at the Richland Hospital on Tuesday, February 16, from 2:00-3:00. For more information on the class call the Richland Hospital at 647-6321.

 

A free legal clinic will be held at the Richland County Courthouse on Tuesday, February 16, from 4:00-6:00.

 

Wednesday, February 17

Southwest Tech's Health Occupations Program is sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, February 17, from 10:00-4:00 PM at the College's Fennimore campus in the Lenz Conference Center.

 

The Richland Hospital will be holding a free Love your Heart Event on Wednesday, February 17, at 2:00 at the Richland Hospital. There will be people talking on Coronary Artery Disease: How it forms and its end effects, Heart Health Diet: What to Eat and what to limit, Exercising your heart: adding movement to your day and setting up your home so EMS can get to you easily.

 

The women of St John will be hosting a Lenten supper fundraiser on Wednesday, February 17, from 5:00-6:45 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Richland Center. A freewill offering will be taken. All funds raised will be used for church projects and WELCA projects.

 

Schmitt Woodland Hills in cooperation with the Bloom City United Methodist, Boaz United Methodist, First Baptist, Town & Country Presbyterian, and Church of the Nazarene will host five Lenten Services at the Schmitt Woodland Hills second floor activity room. The services will start at 7:00. A special free will offering supper will be held on the first service from 5:30-6:30. The first service will be held on Wednesday, February 17th.

 

Thursday, February 18

The Vernon County Health Department will be holding an immunization clinic on Thursday, February 18, at the Health Department in Viroqua. Hours for the clinic are from 9:00-11:30 and from 4:30-6:00. The clinic is for those who are uninsured, have Medicaid, BadgerCare, or if their health insurance doesn't cover vaccines.

 

The Lone Rock Community Meeting on saving Lone Rock Elementary will be on Thursday, February 18, starting at 7:00 at the community building. If you have any questions call Dan at 553-3526.

 

Saturday, February 20

The 17th Annual Caz Turkey Busters Fisheree will be on Saturday, February 20. Registration for the event starts at 8:00 and fishing lasts until 3:00. Cost is a $2 entry. There will be cash prizes and a raffle. Food and beverages will be available.

 

The 2016 Trinity UMC Candlelight Dinner is set for Saturday, February 20, at the Trinity UMC Schmitt Hall. Seating will be at 5:00, 6:00, and 7:00 PM. Tickets are to be purchased in advance at Gordy's Market, Dreams Bridal, and at the church office. Tickets are $10 for adults, $4 for children age 5-11, and free for children 4 and under. Childcare Will be Available for Each Seating. Proceeds will benefit the Trinity & Peace UMC and Trinity Schmitt Hall Update.

 

Sunday, February 21

The Ithaca Lions Club will hold a Harvey Robinson Benefit Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, February 21, from 7:00-1:00 at the Ithaca High School Commons. Tickets are $6 for adults and children 12 and under are $3.

 

The River Valley FFA Pancake Breakfast will be Sunday, February 21, from 8:00-11:30 at the American Legion in Spring Green. Cost is $5.00 for adults, children 5-10 $3, and kids 4 and under free.

 

Tuesday, February 23

New or prospective families are invited to visit St. John's School and see their classrooms firsthand on Tuesday, February 23, at 6:00.

 

The Richland Hospital Club Scrub will start on Tuesday, February 23, from 3:45-5:15. Club Scrub is for kids in 7th and 8th grade and pre-registration is requested. Call Deanna Gochenaur for more information and to register at 647-6321.

 

Wednesday, February 24

The Boaz Lions Club Soup Supper will be on Wednesday, February 24, from 4:30-7:30 at the Boaz Community Building. There will be Chili, Bean, Chicken Noodle, and Potato soups. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children.

 

A Labor Support Class will be held at the Richland Hospital on Wednesday, February 24, from 6:00-9:00. To register for the class call the Birth Center at 647-6321.

 

Thursday, February 25

An All You Can Eat Pizza Buffet Walk with GRACE Fundraiser Sponsored by the St. John's Walk with GRACE team.will be on Thursday, February 25, from 4:30-7:30 at the Phoenix Center in Richland Center. Cost is $8 per person and $5 for children 10 and under.

 

Boscobel Elementary School Child Development Screenings will be held on Thursday and Friday (Feb. 25 & 26) at the United Methodist Church in Boscobel. Thursday the screenings will be held from 11:00-6:30 and Friday from 8:30-4:30. Screenings are for all four year old children entering 4K in 2016 or 2 year old children who will turn 3 by September 1, 2016. Call 375-4165 to schedule an appointment.

 

Saturday, February 27

The 16th Annual Lee Lake Polar Bear Plunge will be held on Saturday, February 27, at Lee Lake in Cazenovia. Money raised will go to Greater Richland Area Cancer Elimination (GRACE) and the American Cancer Society (ACS). The live auction will begin at 11:30 in the American Legion Building, plunge at 2:00 into Lee Lake. There will be side raffles, food and a bake sale.

 

The American Legion Post 13 will be hosting their 3rd Annual Chili Supper and Pie Auction on Saturday, February 27, from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Legion Hall. All you can eat chili will be $6.00 per person. Homemade pies will be auctioned off the entire evening. Proceeds go towards building up keep.

 

Sunday, February 28

An 8 Pin Tap Singles Bowling Benefit/Tournament sponsored by the Sunday Funday Bowling League will be held Sunday, February 28. Sign-Up times are available at 11:00 and 2:00. Cost is $15 per person. Money raised will help support the Fire Department and Rescue Squad.

 

Tuesday, March 1

The Master Gardeners of Grant County, and, the Horticulture Club at the University of Wisconsin - Platteville present the first annual Driftless Gardeners' Gathering, a series of horticultural workshops open to students, faculty and staff, and the general public on Saturday, April 2 at 8:30 AM. Each workshop will be led by professionals within their respective fields, including UW professors, and master gardeners. The event takes place in room 2017 in the Markee Pioneer Student Center. A Free Community Supper will be held on Wednesday, March 2, from 5:00-7:00 at the Blue River Community Building.

 

Saturday, March 5

The 4th Cabin Fever Dance will be on Saturday, March 5, from 11:00-7:00 at the Lone Rock Community Building. There will be bingo, meat paddles, raffles, a silent and live auction, dinner and drinks, and live music from the TKO band from 4:00-7:00. This is a fundraiser for Vetsroll.org who send WWII veterans to their memorials. Contact Lisa at 929-4690 for more information. Donations may also be dropped off at the Community Hall in Lone Rock Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

Thursday, April 7

On Thursday, April 7, the Richland County UW-Extension is offering a free workshop on Saving for Retirement. The Workshop will take place at the Brewer Public Library from 6:00-7:30 PM. Richland County Family Living Agent, Chelsea Wunnicke will review resources and tools to help you plan for retirement. A free children's movie will be offered by the library staff to during the workshop.

 

Friday, April 15

The UW-Richland Alumni Association will accept Outstanding Alumni nominations through April 15. The 2016 group of honorees will be recognized at the Fall Alumni Day event in October. Each year the Alumni Association honors individuals from the former Richland County Teachers College and the UW-Richland with a maximum of 5 honorees possible.
