Wednesday, September 28

The Richland Parks Department would like to announce that all parks are now open.

 

The Muscoda American Legion Post 85 will hold Burgers in the Park at Muscoda's Railroad Park on Wednesday, September, 28th, from 4:00-8:00.

 

La Farge United Methodist Church will host a spaghetti supper and family game night on Wednesday, September 28th, from 5:00-7:00. Free will donations will go towards the Children/Youth programs at the church.

 

The Heartland Cruisers will hold the final cruise night on Wednesday, September 28th, from 6:00-9:00 at Route 14. There will be a raffle. Money raised will go towards the Doudna Elementary School Playground project.

 

Tickets are available for The Presidents, a night of music and fun, Friday, October 28th, from 8:30-12:00 at the White House Ramada. Tickets are on sale at the Capital Wealth Advisory Group office in the Richland Performing Arts Center, Gordy's Market, and Napa Auto Parts. Advance tickets are $12.50 or $15 at the door. Money raised will go to GRACE.

 

Thursday, September 29

The Brewer Public Library will host Baby Storytime Thursday mornings at 10:30. Those attending will read books, sing, and have the opportunity to meet other area parents.

 

Grace Life Church in Richland Center will host church conferences on Thursday, September 29th, Friday, September 30th, and Sunday, October 2nd. Thursday evening the conference will be held at 7:00, Friday's morning conference will be held at 9:00, and on Sunday the church women will serve a brunch at 9:00 with the message to follow. Friday, September 30

Richland Baptist Temple will hold a bake sale on Friday, September 30th, at the Richland County Bank from 9:00-2:00. Funds raised will help support Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child.

 

The annual Wheels of Time Show will be held Friday, September 30th, through Sunday, October 2nd, at the Richland County Fairgrounds. The Southern Wisconsin Chapter of the American Truck Historical Society and Hill Country Classic Power will welcome trucks and tractors. The featured tractor this year will be Allis Chalmers. Admission will be free with food available and Cowboy Church will take place at 9:30 Sunday morning.

 

The Richland Center Rodeo Committee will hold a brat stand next to K&K Furniture both Friday and Saturday, September 30th and October 1st, from 10:00 until gone both days.

 

The Richland Center Vietnam Veterans Chapter #7 will be selling brats, hot dogs and chicken sandwiches at Oakwood Fruit Farm Friday, September 30th, through Sunday, October, 2nd,  from 10:00-3:00 each day.

 

The Richland Center High School All-School Reunion will be held Friday night, September 30th, from 5:00-10:00, at the Phoenix Center in Richland Center. Alumni and friends of Richland Center High School are welcome to attend.

 

All veterans are invited to be honorary guests at Weston’s Homecoming Football Game on Friday, September 30th, at 7:00. Admission will be free to all veterans, and each veteran will receive a free beverage and food item coupon. Veterans are to check in at the ticket booth upon arrival and will be invited to participate in the Presentation of Colors prior to the singing of the National Anthem.

 

Saturday, October 1

Richland Center's large item collection will be held on Saturday, October 1st. Items need to be on the curb by 6:00 AM on Saturday.

 

The 94th annual Ithaca School Fair will be held on Saturday, October 1st. Livestock is to be in place at the school by 7:30. Animal judging will start at 8:00 by the outdoor basketball court. The parade will begin at 10:30. The football game will kick off at 1:30. The homecoming dance will run from 8:00-11:00 Saturday night.

 

The Black Hawk United Methodist Church will host the Lord's Acre Celebration Saturday and Sunday, October 1st & 2nd. Events include a bake sale, auction, kids activities and more.

 

The First Lutheran Church of Lone Rock will host a bake shop on Saturday, October 1st, from 8:00-11:00.

 

The Weston Badger Honor Run 5K Run/1 Mile Walk will take place Saturday, October 1st. The event will start with a presentation of colors and national anthem at 9:15 at the Weston High School. The run will kick off at 9:30 with the walk starting at 9:35. Cost is $12 a person or $20 for a family. The awards ceremony will be held at 10:45. There will be refreshments available. The Weston Fall Harvest Fest will follow the run/walk. Registration forms are available at Weston schools.

 

Plain will hold a business promotion event on Saturday, October 1st, from 11:00-5:00 in the business district on Alma Avenue. Events include a street dance, music, raffles and food to taste and purchase.

 

The UW-Richland Alumni Association will host the 4th annual Home Brew Fest on Saturday, October 1st, from 2:00-5:00 in the university gymnasium. There will be brews made by ten different home brewers from the area. There will also be food available

 

The 5th Annual Pulaski Music Fest will be held on Saturday, October 1st, from 4:00-7:00 at the Pulaski church. There will be music by Big Medicine, Cowgirl Pearl Olson, Scott Guthrie, and Don Greenwood. Food and refreshments will also be available.

 

The Richland Center Color Fest Parade will be held Saturday, October 1st, at 7:00. For Safety Purposes only parade vehicles will be permitted in the staging area. Walkers and band students should be dropped off at the corner of 3rd and Church and walk into the staging area. Floats and vehicles should enter staging area on 4th Street.

 

Sunday, October 2

St. Philip Catholic Church of Soldiers Grove will host a roast beef dinner and bazaar Sunday, October 2nd. A polka mass will be held at 10:00. The meal will be served from 11:00-2:00. There will also be raffles, games, and baked goods available. Cost for adults is $10, kids 6-12 are $5 and children 6 and under free. Carry-outs will be available. Richland Youth Bowlers will hold their sign-up meeting on Sunday, October 2nd, at 11:00 at the Phoenix Center. Those interested in taking part in the youth bowling league are asked to attend.

 

The 9th annual Milk Into Cheese Hayride will take place Sunday, October 2nd, at 1:00 at the Ed and Linda Chitwood Farm at Byrds Creek.

 

Monday, October 3

PALS will hold a spaghetti dinner on Monday, October 3rd, from 5:00-8:00 at the Lone Rock Community Building. Cost for a meal is $8 and children 5 and under eat free. Take outs will be available. For more information contact Pat at 583-6080.

 

The Richland Center American Legion Auxiliary Unit 13 will meet Monday, October 3rd. A meal will be served at 6:30 with a program on education and meeting to follow.

 

Tuesday, October 4

The Brewer Public Library will host an after-school Lego club every Tuesday from 3:00-8:00. Youth of all ages are welcome to attend.

 

The Brewer Public Library will host baby storytime for infants age 0-24 months every Tuesday evening at 4:30 and Thursday morning at 10:30.

 

Wednesday, October 5

The Blue River United Methodist Church will serve a free community meal on Wednesday, October 5th, from 5:00-6:30 at the Blue River Community Building.

 

Thursday, October 6

The Richland Hospital will host a Blood Drive in Pippin Hall on Thursday, October 6th, from 11:00-4:00. To schedule an appointment contact Deanna Gochenaur at 647-6321 ext. 2413. Walk-ins will also be welcome.

 

The Holy Cross, St. Barnabas/St. John the Baptist Church in Arena will host an Estate Sale Thursday, October 6th through Saturday, October 8th. Thursday's hours will run from 12:00-6:00. Friday and Saturday the sale will run from 8:00-12:00.

 

The Ancestors of Richland County Hills (ARCH) genealogy club will meet Thursday, October 6th, at 5:30 in the Brewer Library History Room. Those attending are asked to bring something to "show or tell" pertaining to your ancestors or history.

 

An Education Forum will be held on Thursday, October 6th, in the Large Group Instruction Room of the Richland Center High School. Candidates from the 49th, 50th and 51st Assembly Districts have been invited to participate. The Forum will begin at 6:00 pm with a social time to follow. It is being sponsored by Lambda Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma.

 

Friday, October 7

Lone American Legion and Auxillary Post 383 are sponsoring a brat stand at Oakwood Fruit Farm on Friday, October 7th through Sunday, October 9th, from 9:00-3:00 each day. Proceeds will help raise funds for the New Lone Rock Veteran Memorial.

 

St. Luke Church in Plain will host a family style fish fry on Friday, October 7th, from 5:00-8:00. Carry-outs will be available and the church hall is handicapped accessible.

 

The River Valley FFA will hold a 50/50 raffle on Friday, October 7th, from 8:30-1:30 and again at 5:00 through halftime of the homecoming football game. The proceeds will go to the River Valley FFA to help fund scholarships, academic trips, and to fuel future fundraisers. Ticket prices will be $1 per ticket; $5 for 10 tickets; $10 for an arm length; and $20 for a full arm span.

 

Saturday, October 8

The Sauk County Horse And Pony Project Tack Sale and Vendor Event will be held Saturday, October 8th, from 9:00-3:00 at the Sauk County Fairgrounds. New and used model horse tack and stable supplies, show clothing, and anything horse related will be on sale. A lunch and bake sale will be available on the grounds. Award winning author and speaker, Cynthia Ruchti will be speaking at the Beulah Wesleyan Church on Saturday, October 8. The event will begin at 10:00 with registration starting at 9:30. Registration fee is $10.00. Lunch will be provided. The afternoon session will be for questions and discussion. The event will conclude at 3:00. For more information call 647-4695.

 

The Viola United Methodist Church will host a fall sandwich supper on Saturday, October 8th, from 4:30-7:00. There will also be pies for sale. A free will offering will also be taken.

 

The 2nd Annual Glow in the Dark Angels of Hope 5K Walk/Run, Kid's Race & Candlelight Vigil will be held Saturday, October 8th, at the Vernon County Fairgrounds in Viroqua. The event helps raise awareness of the Angels of Hope Ministry that helps those who have lost a child. Registration opens at 5:30. The children's race starts at 6:30 with the Glow in the Dark 5K taking place at 7:00. The awards presentation and candlelight vigil will close out the evening.

 

The annual Richland Center Firefighters Dance will be held Saturday, October 8th, from 6:30-10:30 at the Phoenix Center. Monty Berger and the Country Gold Band will play.

 

Tuesday, October 11

The Brewer Public Library will host an adult paint night on Tuesday, October 11th, at 5:00. The program is free but registration is required and limited to 20 painters. To register contact the library at 647-6444 or visit the library.

 

Thursday, October 13

The next Richland Center Chamber meeting will be held on Thursday, October 13th, from 6:00-7:00 at the Brewer Public Library downstairs.

 

Friday, October 14

The Friends of the Kraemer Library and Community Center in Plain will host the 15th annual Pies, Pages, Puzzles, and Pottery sale Friday and Saturday, October 14th and 15th. Friday's hours will run from 9:00-5:00 and Saturday from 9:00-12:00. Proceeds will go towards library programming. There will be gently-used books, DVDs, and jigsaw puzzles available for purchase. There will also be pies and pottery for sale.

 

The Boaz Area Lions Club Friday night fish fry fundraiser will take place Friday, October 14th, from 4:30-7:00 at the Boaz Community Center. Cost for a meal is $8.

 

Saturday, October 15

The Lone Rock 4th of July Committee will sponsor a Brat Stand at Oakwood Fruit Farm Saturday, October 15th through Monday, October 17th, from 10:00-4:00 each day to raise money for the up coming years event.

 

October 19

A free community meal will be served at the Nazarene Outreach Center in Richland Center on Wednesday, October 19 at 5:30. All are welcome.
