Wednesday, June 29

American Legion Post 85 will serve burgers in the park on Wednesday, June 29th, from 4:00-8:00.

 

Members of the Syresville Starlets 4-H Club will hold a Culver's Share Night on Wednesday, June 29th, from 4:00-8:00.

 

Churning Dirt is seeking volunteers to work July 21st-24th. Each volunteer can earmark a charity of choice to get a donation on their behalf. Churning Dirt guarantees $8 per hour worked to the volunteer's charity of choice and a percentage share of the year end proceeds based on the number of hours worked. Thursday, June 30

Richland Middle School Summer School Classes will continue through Thursday, June 30th, at the Richland Center High School, rooms 110 and 131.

 

The village of Blue River will be flushing hydrants on Thursday, June 30th. The water is safe to drink but may discolor clothing.

 

The Brewer Public Library in Richland Center will host a continuation in their Kids Workshop series on Thursday, June 30th, with a kids yoga class at 1:00. The program is free and open to youth of all ages.

 

The Village of Muscoda will be spraying for mosquitoes Thursday evening, June 30th, starting at 8:00.

Friday, July 1

The Brewer Public Library will be host Everybody Storytime sessions every Wednesday and Friday from 10:30-11:00. Everybody Storytime is open to children ages 0-6. Children will have the opportunity to read books, sing songs, count, learn numbers and make a simple craft to take home.

 

Saturday, July 2

The Schmitt Striders Alzheimer Team will hold a brat barn fundraiser at Gordy's Market on Saturday, July 2nd, from 10:00 until gone.

 

The Brewer Public Library will host a kids fourth of July celebration on Saturday, July 2nd, starting at 10:30. The event is free and open to youth of all ages.

 

Sunday July 3

The Viroqua Eagles Car Truck & Bike Show, sponsored by Auto Value Auto Parts, will be held on Sunday, July 3rd, at 8:00 rain or shine. The show is located at 216 S. Rock Ave. in Viroqua. There will be a bake sale, raffles, a 50/50 cash raffle, a large raffle, and a special raffle for kids ages 0-12. Food and beverages will be available. Money raised will go to fund local charities. The event is free and open to the public.

 

Lone Rock's 4th of July Celebration will take place on both Sunday and Monday, July 3rd and 4th. Sunday will feature a volleyball tournament starting at 11:00. There will also be bingo, kids baseball and the TKO Band. On Monday, a 5K water run will be held along with a tractor pull, a softball tournament, a horseshoe tournament, and much more. Fireworks will take place at dusk on Monday, July 4th. Everyone is welcome to attend.

 

Monday, July 4

The Brewer Public Library will be closed for the fourth of July holiday.

 

The Lone Rock EMS will hold a Chicken BBQ on Monday, Jule 4th, following the parade at the fire department.

 

Witwen will hold a parade sponsored by the Blackhawk and Denzer United Methodist Churches on Monday, July 4th, at 10:30. Following the parade will be a barbecue chicken dinner with pie. There will also be games for all ages taking place at 2:00.

 

The WCTU Annual Independence Day Celebration will be held at the Valton Friends Meeting House Grounds on Monday, July 4th, starting with a potluck at noon. Music will be provided by the Cazenovia German Band. A patriotic program will follow the band. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass, table service and chairs. In case of inclement weather the celebration will be held indoors.

 

Tuesday, July 5

Boscobel High School's Football Camp will be held from Tuesday, July 5th, through Thursday, July 7th. The camp is for students in grades four through eight. The camp will run from 10:00-11:00. Cost for the camp is $20 and includes a t-shirt. If you have any questions or to sign up call Joey Martin at 485-0657.

 

The Brewer Public Library is hosting a Lego Club program on Tuesday, July 5th, from 10:00-2:00 as a continuation of their Summer Reading Program.

 

Thursday, July 7

The Parkinson's Education/Support Group will meet on Thursday, July 7th, at 10:00 at the Richland Center Community Center. The topic will be "Taking Care of Your Mental Health."

 

The Brewer Public Library will host Baby Storytime Thursday mornings at 10:30. Those attending will read books, sing, and have the opportunity to meet other area parents.

 

The Brewer Public Library in Richland Center will host a continuation in their kids workshop series on Thursday, July 7th, at 1:00. Youth are invited to the library for a kid's cooking class. Children will make healthy snacks. The program is free and open to youth of all ages.

 

 Saturday, July 9

The Brewer Public Library will hold a presentation on redworm compost on Saturday, July 9th, at 10:00. Dan Corbin will give the presentation and the program is free.

 

Sunday, July 10

The Avoca United Methodist Church Ice Cream Social will be held Sunday, July 10, from 12:00-2:00 in the church dining room. The menu includes BBQ, hot dogs, chili dogs, potato salad, baked beans, chips, and dessert. Cost is $8 for adults, kids 6-12 are $5, and children under 6 are free.

 

Tuesday, July 12

Park Street Christian Church will host an Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, July 12th, from 4:30-7:30 in their Fellowship Hall. The menu includes BBQ, potato salad, and strawberry shortcake. A free will offering will be taken.

 

Wednesday, July 13

A free workshop on canning and food preservation will be held Wednesday, July 13th, from 6:00-7:00 at the Brewer Public Library, lower level. Get recipes, ideas, and answers to your questions.

 

Wednesday, July 20

A free community meal will be served at the Nazarene Outreach Center on Wednesday, July 20th, starting at 5:30. All are welcome to attend.

 

Thursday, July 21

Pine Valley Healthcare will hold an informational meeting about the brand new building on Thursday, July 21st, at 5:00 on the first floor at Pine Valley Community Village. The meeting is open to the public.

 

Saturday, July 23

Midwest Fire Fest will be held at West Side Park in Cambridge on Saturday and Sunday, July 23rd and 24th. Activities include pottery, iron pours, welding, hot glass, fire dancing, fire food and music. Saturday's hours will run from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
