Thursday, October 23

The Shopping News and Xpress Printing Walk with G.RA.C.E. team will host a Brat and Hamburger Sale on Thursday, October 23rd from 11:00 - 2:00 in the Shopping News Parking Lot. 

Richland County Health and Human Services - Public Health will offer an Immunization Clinic on Wednesday, October 23rd from 1:00 - 5:00 pm at the Community Services Building.  These clinics offer all routine childhood vaccinations to children covered by BadgerCare or do not have vaccine coverage.

There will be a special Vietnam Agent Orange Town Meeting on Thursday, October 23rd at 4:00 pm at the Richland Center American Legion Post 13.  Vietnam Veteran and former Waukesha County Veteran Service Officer, John Margowski will present cases related to Agent Orange.  This meeting is free and all Vietnam Veterans and spouses are welcome and encouraged to attend.  For more information, contact Sandra Kramer at 647-6101.

 

Friday, October 24

The Wolf Country Band will be playing at the Richland Center Woodman Senior Center on Friday, October 24th from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.

The Jamaican Mission Program Waffle Supper & Silent Auction will take place on Friday, October 24th from 4:30-7:00 pm at the Richland Community Center. A free will offering will be accepted.

The VFW Post 10393 of Boscobel will host a Haunted House on Friday and Saturday, October 24th and 25th, and November 1st  from 7:00 - 11:00 pm at the Bohlman House on Park Street.  Admission is $5.

 

Saturday, October 25

The Toastmasters will hold a Halloween Tall Tale event on Saturday, October 25th from 1:30 - 3:00 pm at the Spring Green Community Library.  There will be refreshments and goody bags for kids.

Make your reservations by October 25th for the Southwestern Wisconsin Marine Corps Association annual Marine Corps Birthday Celebration on Saturday, November 9th at the Castle Rock Inn in Muscoda.  Registration and social hour starts at Noon with the meal starting at 1:00 pm, followed by a short business meeting.   To RSVP, call Mike at 608-576-8282 or Pat at 608-279-2417.

The RCHS Class of 1968 will host a food stand at the Monsta Mash Dash on Saturday, October 25th starting at 4:00 pm at the Dr. Meyer Building in Krouskop Park.  Enjoy grilled cheese, grilled ham and cheese, turkey chili, and homemade apple and pumpkin pies.

 

Sunday, October 26

The Spring Green Knights of Columbus Breakfast will take place on Sunday, October 26th from 7:30 - 10:30 am at St. John's Parish Center. Cost is $7.50.

The King's Countrymen Bluegrass Gospel group will sing at the Community Congregational Church of Lone Rock on Sunday, October 26th at 10:00 am.

The Avoca United Methodist Church will hold its annual Beef-and-Pork Dinner and Fall Auction on Sunday, October 26. Dinner will be served from 11:00 - 1:00 with the auction beginning at 1:30. Tickets for the dinner will be available at the door, $10 for adults and $5 for children 6-12, children under 6 are free. Carryouts will be available.

Pine Valley HealthCare and Rehabilitation Center & WRCO will be hosting the Annual “Safe Trick or Treat” on Sunday, October 26th from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.  Local businesses and vendors are asked to consider sponsoring a station where children will receive candy, toys, coupons, and more.

 

Monday, October 27

The Richland Hospital will offer free blood pressure checks on Monday, October 27th from Noon - 4:00.

 

Tuesday, October 28

A Schmitt Woodland Hills Community Forum will be held on Tuesday, October 28th at 10:00 am in the activity room at Schmitt Woodland Hills.  This week's speaker will be Norbert Calnin on "Creating a Values-Based Estate Plan."

The Richland Center Lions will meet at the Richland County Veterans Memorial on Tuesday, October 28th for a Field Trip starting at 5:30 pm.  Veterans Memorial Committee members will be available for an overview about the Memorials.

 

Wednesday, October 29

Richland County Health and Human Services - Public Health will hold an Influenza and Pneumonia Immunization Clinic on Wednesday, October 29th from 10:30 - 11:30 at the Rockbridge School.  The Influenza vaccine is $40 and the Pneumonia vaccine is $75.

Lone Rock Congregational Church will host its annual Chicken Supper on Wednesday, October 29th at 4:30 pm. Adults are $10, children are $4.50, and children under 4 are free.

 

Thursday, October 30

Community First Bank will host a fall bake sale to benefit the Walk with GRACE on Thursday, October 30th from 8:30-4:00.

Make your reservation by October 30th for the Passages fundraiser dinner to be held on Saturday, November 8th at 5:30 pm at the UW-Richland Wallace Center.  Dinner tickets are $30 each and are available at Thrifty White Pharmacy, Deanne's Designs and Passages.  A raffle will also take place with tickets at $5 each or 5 for $20.  

 

Friday, October 31

Three groups from Riverdale High School will be going door to door on Thursday, October 31st from 5:00 - 7:00 pm to collect non-perishable food items for the Riverdale Food Pantry.  The goal is to collect 2,000 pounds of non-perishable.  Anyone who is missed or would like to donate prior or after the fact, can drop off items at the Riverdale High School during school hours.  Questions may be directed to Chris Simonson, Paul Marshall or Mindy Kratochwill by calling the high school at 739-3116.

 

Saturday, November 1

The Grant County Holiday Project will be accepting donations to assist low-income and elderly Grant County residents in celebrating a happy and healthy Christmas.  Donations may include: new warm children’s clothing (all sizes), disposable diapers, blankets, sheets, wrapping paper and canned or boxed food items.  Any cash donations may be sent to: Grant County Holiday Project, PO Box 447 Lancaster, Wisconsin 53813.  Other donations may be brought to the Grant County Social Services building located at 8820 Hwy 35 & 61 S, Lancaster WI after November 1st.

The 40 et 8 Boxcar Roundup, a membership drive for the 40 et 8, American Legion Auxiliary, American Legion and Legion Riders, will take place on Saturday, November 1st.  The locomotive will leave Post 13 at 8:00 am and will make seven stops along the way.

The United Church of Muscoda Presbyterian will host a Harvest Luncheon and Bake Sale on Saturday, November 1st from 11:00 - 2:00.

Volunteers are needed on Saturday, November 1st to help set up for the 40 et 8 Breakfast taking place on Sunday at the Richland Center American Legion.  Set up time starts 4:00 pm.

The Richland County Alzheimer’s Walk Team, the Memory Makers,will host the 6th Annual All-You-Can-Eat Chili and Soup Feed on Saturday, November 1st from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Yuba Community Center.  Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for children 6-12 and children 5 and under are free.  Carry-outs are available for an extra $.50 each.

The Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club will host its Chili and Soup Cookoff and Raffle on Saturday, November 1st from 5:00 - 11:00 pm at the Phoenix Center.  Entry fee is $10.  Enjoy live music from Dr. Rumpley Snuff Band from 7:00 - 11:00.  Admission is $10 at the door.  For more information, contact Gray Fox at 608-538-3277 or OB at 608-393-9042.

 

Sunday, November 2

Richland County 40 et 8 will hold their semi-annual Pancake and Sausage Breakfast on Sunday, November 2nd from 7:00 am - 12:30 pm at American Legion Post 13. Cost is $6.00. All proceeds go to Nurses Training Scholarships.

 

Monday, November 3

Ithaca's Class of 2026 Fun Nights will be holding a pet food/supply drive November 3-7. The Class of 2026 Fun Nights wants families to be able to keep their pets and have the correct supplies for them. Tuesday, November 4

A Schmitt Woodland Hills Community Forum will be held on Tuesday, November 4th at 10:00 am in the activity room at Schmitt Woodland Hills.  This week's speaker will be Lorna Maxwell on "Friendship Quilters Guild."

 

Wednesday, November 5

The Richland Center High School Winter Sports Meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 5th in the East Commons.  Sign up and fee collection will be from 4:00 - 5:30 pm with a parent meeting to follow at 5:30.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2267 will hold a Culver's Share Night in Richland Center on Wednesday, November 5 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Funds raised will be used to purchase needed items for the Veterans at the Tomah Veterans Hospital in time for the Holidays.

The S.O.U.L. Kitchen will host a community meal on Wednesday, November 5th from 5:30 - 7:00 pm at Town and Country Presbyterian Church.

Thursday, November 6

The Richland Center High School student council will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, November 6th from 9:00 - 2:00 in the high school fieldhouse. Walk-ins are welcome, or to make an appointment, call 1-800-Red-Cross (733-2767). Participation helps the Young Minds Change Lives Educational Scholarship program.

The Parkinson's Education/Support Group will meet on Thursday, November 6th from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the Richland Community and Senior Center.  Joanne Welsh, from the Aging and Disability Resource Center, will speak on understanding Medicare and Medicaid benefits, and Medicare Part D plans.

The Ancestors of Richland County Hills (ARCH) genealogy club will meet on Thursday, November 6th at 5:30 p.m. at the Brewer Library history room. There will be a business meeting, an election of officers, and planning of 2015 programs.

 

Friday, November 7

The Richland School District Foundation and Richland Center High School present the all-school musical, “Oklahoma,” Friday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, November 9 at 2:00 p.m. Performances are in the RCHS auditorium.  Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for students K-12, and free for pre-schoolers.  An Old Fashioned Chicken Social will be Saturday, November 8, with seating from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. in the east commons. The $20 ticket includes the meal and a First Choice Seating performance ticket.  Tickets are available at Ed's Family Foods, The Frame Corner, Richland Family Prescription Center, Thrifty White Pharmacy, and the Richland School District central office.

St. Luke's Church of Plain will host it's Family-Style Fish Fry on Friday, November 7th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Carry-outs are available.

 

Saturday, November 8

Door of Hope of Viroqua will host an Open House at their new office building at 304 N. Washington Avenue, on Saturday, November 8th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.

 

Monday, November 10

The Lone Rock Food Pantry will hold a distribution on Monday, November 10th from 5:00 - 6:00 pm at the Lone Rock Elementary School. The pantry serves families whose children attend Lone Rock Elementary and citizens of Lone Rock.

Home Health United will hold a Grief Through the Holidays support group on Monday, November 10th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Richland Hospital.

 

Tuesday, November 11

A free Service Excellence Workshop will be offered on Monday, November 17th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at the Richland Center Southwest Tech Outreach Site, 26220 Executive Lane.  This workshop will discuss what service means and how Service Excellence applies to everyone in every position in any company or organization. Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin will host a Memory Café, a social gathering place where individuals with memory loss, mild cognitive impairment, early Alzheimer’s, or other dementias, can come together, will meet on Thursday, November 27th from 9:30 - 11:30 am at the Richland Center Woodman Senior Center.  Family and friends are encouraged to come.
