Learn the origin and characteristics of the rock formations that are exposed in the Kickapoo watershed on Wednesay, May 22. Refreshments and socializing will start 6:30 pm.  and the talk begins at 7:00 pm.  Attendees will leave with an understanding of how our unique geology facilitates the migration of surface water and how our activities above ground can impact deep aquifers. This event is free and open to the public. The Driftless Dialogue VI series sponsored in part by the Kickapoo Valley Reforestation (Nuzum) Fund. 

Thursday, May 23

Richland County Health and Human Services-Public Health will be holding an immunization clinic on Thursday, May 23rd from 1:00 - 5:00 pm at the Community Services Building. All routine childhood vaccines will be available.

Five Points Lutheran Church will hold its annual Chicken & Biscuit Supper on Thursday, May 23 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-12 and chidren under 5 are free.

Friday, May 24

The Youth Group from the Nazarene Church will host a brat stand on Friday, May 24th ans Saturday, May 25th from 10:00 - 2:00.

Wisconsin Vietnam Veterans and Schmitt Woodland Hills will host a Blood Drive with the Blood Center of Wisconsin on Friday, May 24 from 10:00 - 2:00 in the second floor activity room.  To make an appointment, please call 647-8931.

Brewer Library is holding an open house to celebrate the newly remodeled children's room on Friday, May 24 from 1:00-5:00 pm. The public is invited for refreshments and tours.

St. Barnabas will be running the Burnstad's Brat Barn Friday and Saturday, May 24 and 25.  Proceeds go to the Episcopal Relief and Development Fund, which include a Tornado Relief Fund and a Global Needs Fund.

Friday, May 24 is American Legion Auxiliary Poppy Day. Auxiliary members will be out in the community seeking donations for Disabled American Veterans and their families. Watch for the red vested ladies along with Legionaires with the poppies that are all made by disabled vets.

The 3rd annual Smelt Feed Benefit for the Muscoda Mennonite School will be held on Friday, May 24th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm, at 1061 Blue River Road in Muscoda.  Free will donations are appreciated.  For more information, please call 553-2642.

Saturday, May 25

Pleasant Ridge Church is hosting an Open House Saturday, May 25th and Sunday, May 26th from 9:00 to 5:00 to show off the renovations.  The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be at 1:00 on Saturday.

The Avoca American Legion, Post 335, will be visiting multiple cemeteries in the area to honor lost soldiers for Memorial Day on Saturday, May 26th.  A brief ceremony and 21-gun salute will be given for our fallen soldiers at the following locations: Depart from the Avoca American Legion at 9:00 am; 9:30 starts the day at North Otter Creek Cemetery; 10:00 am Clyde Town Hall off Hwy 130 for Gile and Thurber Cemeteries; 10:30 Fairview Cemetery; 11:00 at Pulaski Cemetery off Hwy P to close.  Times after North Otter Creek are approximate, and everyone is invited to honor the lives of our soldiers.

The Fennimore Historical Railroad Society Museum will open for the 2013 season on Saturday, May 25.  The museum is open seven days a week from 10:00 - 4:00 p.m. through Labor Day.  After Labor Day the Museum is open weekends only in September and October.

Sunday, May 26

The Kickapoo Valley Rescue Squad annual Pancake Breakfast will be held on Sunday, May 26th from 7:00 Am to 12:00 Noon at the Kickapoo Valley Rescue Squad Building, 213 N Turner St in Viola. Free will donations are appreciated.

The 16th annual Bobfest will be held on Sunday, May 26 from 11:00 - 7:00 at the General Store.  Enjoy the music of Bob Dylan and a special menu at noon.

Monday, May 27

The Annual Memorial Mass at St. Kilian's Chuch of Bear Valley will be held on Monday, May 27th at 9:30 am.  Coffee and donuts to follow with good fellowship. All are welcome.

Richland Hospital will hold its Free Blood Pressure Check on Monday, May 27th from noon - 4:00 pm.

St Malachy's Church in Clyde will hold a Memorial Day Mass on Monday, May 27 at 10:30 am. Following Mass, the Lone Rock American Legion and River Valley Band members will hold a short service in the cemetery. Lunch will follow. All are welcome.

Tuesday, May 28

The Youth Group from the Nazarene Church will host a brat stand on Tuesday, May 28th from 11:00 - 1:30.

Come join the recent Speechcraft graduates and seasoned Toastmasters as the Rolling Hills Toastmasters sharpen their communication and leadership skills in a fun, fast-paced environment. Wednesday, May 29

The Richland School District Foundation Board of Directors and the Richland Center High School faculty and administration invite the public to attend the Scholarship Program Wednesday, May 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the RCHS auditorium. A Reception will be held after the program.

Thursday, May 30

The next support meeting for Fibromyalgia/Chronic Pain will be held Thursday, May 30th at 5pm in the basement of Vernon Memorial Hospital--Taylor Room.  This is a talk meeting to discuss all that those present wish to talk about. The Senior Center has a bus trip to the Diamond Jo Casino scheduled for Thursday, May 30th. If you are 55 or older and interested, please come to Richland Centers, Woodman Senior Center to register. The cost is $11.00 and a buffet lunch is included. Payment is required at time of registration.

Friday, May 31

Friday, May 31st is the last day to register to learn basic bike maintenance procedures, such as how to change a flat tire, adjust brakes and gears, along with basic troubleshooting. Participants in this Bike Workshop will need to bring their own (clean) bikes, helmets and a sack lunch. This event will take place on Saturday, June 8th with a Safety Ride from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm.  The cost is $40/ per person or $36 for a KVR Friend. The Weston Tilapia Fish Fry and Potluck will be held on Saturday, June 1st from 6:00-9:00 pm at White Mound Park.  The tilapia is grown by Weston's aquaculture class.  Students and their families are invited.  You are asked to bring a dish to pass.  A $1 entrance fee for White Mound is required.

Sunday, June 2

The Denzer United Methodist Church will host their 10th annual Chicken BBQ on Sunday, June 2nd from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at the Honey Creek (Denzer) Town Hall.

Sunday, June 2 is the last day to make reservations for the Fennimore Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Outing held on Monday, June 10. The 9 Hole Scramble Tournament starts with a 3:00 p.m. shotgun start. LOOK GOOD...FEEL BETTER is a program sponsored by the American Cancer Society to teach female cancer patients beauty techniques during chemotherapy and radiation treatment. The Muscoda Public Library is hosting local author, Dan Bomkamp on Wednesday, June 5th, 6:30-7:45pm. Dan will be reading excerpts from his new book, The Lost Treasure of Bogus Bluff. Dan will have copies of his book available for sale, with a portion of the proceeds going to the library.

St. Luke's Church in Plain will host its Family Style Fish Fry on Friday, June 7th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm.  Carry outs are available.

St. Luke's Parish Festival in Plain will take place Friday through Sunday, June 7, 8, and 9th.  Enjoy live entertainment, Friday night Fish Fry, Baseball,Softball and Volleyball Tournaments, BBQ Chicken Dinner, raffles and concessions!

Saturday, June 8

Griesen Family Dairy will host the Sauk County Dairy Breakfast on Saturday, June 8th from 7:00 - 11:00 am.  Please make use of the bus shuttle from the Sauk Prairie High school as parking at the farm is limited.  Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children ages 7-12.  Children 6 and under are free.

Sunday, June 9

The Lone Rock Food Pantry will be open to Lone Rock citizens and families of Lone Rock students on Monday, June 10 from 5:00 - 6:00 pm at the Lone Rock Elementary.

Public Health and the InHealth Community Wellness Clinic of Boscobel are happy to announce summer hours for adult and children dental services. A Registered Dental Hygienist will perform cleanings, sealants and fluoride varnishes to any person with Medicaid / Badgercare.  Services offered by appointment only at the Crawford County Administration Building in the Public Health Office at 225 N Beaumont Road, Suite 306, Prairie du Chien.
