Tuesday, July 22

The Richland Hospital Foundation invites you to join them in a First Choice Experience Tour on Tuesday, July 22nd from 5:15 - 6:15 pm.  Join Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Thomas Beck,  with a tour of the Surgery Suites.  For more information, call Norbert Calnin at 647-6321.

The Richland Center Lions Club picnic at 6:15 pm has been moved indoors to the lower level of the Richland Hospital.

Registration is open for the Kickapoo Reserve Dam Challenge Triathalon, to take place on Saturday, October 4th.  This challenge is a 7-mile Paddle, 14-mile Pedal and 3-mile Run around the Kickapoo Valley Reserve.  To register or for more information, visit kvr.state.wi.us/damchallenge.

Pro-Build Richland Center supports Walk With Grace with raffle tickets to win a children’s playhouse through August 7th. Tickets are $10 each or 5 for $40 and available at Burnstads, Center Café, Walsh’s Ace, Ed’s Family Foods and Pro-Build. All proceeds go to GRACE.

 

Wednesday, July 23

The Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will hold a distribution in Gays Mills on Wednesday, July 23rd from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at the old Gays Mills Community Building.

A Ham & Chicken Dinner which will held on Wednesday, July 23rd at the Sportsman's Bar and Grill in Muscoda from 4:00 - 8:30pm.  The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 10 and under. Carry outs will be an additional $.50. All proceeds go to Friends of Muscoda Library.

Guitars for God, free beginning guitar lessons, will start Wednesday, July 23rd at 5:30 pm at the Richland Center Free Methodist Church. Bring your own guitar, some loaners will be available. For more information, call 647-4141.

Richland County Fair premium books are now available. Premium books can be picked up at local financial institutions, the Brewer Public Library, the UW Extension Office and the Richland County Fair Office. Deadline for entries is August 1.

 

Thursday, July 24

The Partners of the Richland Hospital quarterly meeting will take place on Thursday, July 24th from 9:00 - 11:00 am.  For more information, contact Deanna Gochenaur at 647-6321.

The Alzheimer's and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin will host a Memory Cafe on Thursday, July 24th from 9:30 - 11:00 am at the Richland Center Woodman Senior Center. Memory Cafe is a social gathering where individuals with memory loss, mild cognitive impairment and early Alzheimer's can visit and share common interests.  For more information, contact Becky DeBuhr, Outreach Specialist with ADAW, at 608-723-4288.

The Richland County Health and Human Services-Public Health will host an Immunization Clinic on Thursday, July 24th from 1:00 - 5:00 pm in the Community Services Building. These clinics offer all routine childhood vaccines to children covered by BadgerCare or who have no vaccine coverage.

La Farge United Methodist Church will host a Strawberry Shortcake and Hamburger Supper on Thursday, July 24th from 4:30 - 6:30 pm.

Solstice Jazz Band will be hosting the Big Band Jam in honor of their 10th anniversary on Thursday, July 24th from 5:00 - 9:30 pm at the Post House Garden in Spring Green.  Featured bands will be The New Horizons Swing Band, All That Jazz Band, Madison College Band and the Solstice Jazz Band.

The Type Rider II:Tandem Bike Tour will be stopping in Boaz on Friday, July 25th at 6:30 pm at the Boaz Community Park for the Little Free Library celebration. Listen to poet guests, Maya and Amy as they talk about their adventures riding tandem bikes through four states, while enjoying a campfire. This event is sponsored by the Boaz Boosters 4-H Club.

Solid Ground, a family ministry performing traditional and bluegrass Gospel, will be performing at the 13th Annual Outdoor Christian Concert on Thursday, July 24th at 7:00 p.m. at the Highland Village Park.  A freewill offering will be collected to cover expenses for the performers. 

A Karaoke Koncert will take place on Thursday, July 24th at 7:00 pm in the 2nd Floor Activity Room of Schmitt Woodland Hills. All money raised will benefit the Alzheimer's "Memory Walk".

 

Friday, July 25

The Lone Rock Community Food Pantry will host a Brat Fry Fundraiser on Friday, July 25th from 11:00 - 7:00 at Prem Meats in Spring Green. 

Wyttenbach Meats and the Sauk Prairie Area Emergency Services will sponsor Heroes for Honor, a fundraiser for the Badger Honor Flight, to take place on Friday and Saturday, July 25th and 26th at Westwynde Park in Prairie du Sac. Friday kicks off at 5:00 pm with a softball tournament. Saturday gets underway at 8:00 am with the softball tournament continuing, Kiddie Tractor Parade, Meat Raffle, Bean Bag Tournamant, live music, fireworks and more.

Live Action Show Featuring Cowboys, Knights and Gladiators, Mounted Shooting, Trick Riding, Jousting, Chariot Racing will take place Friday, July 25th at 8:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday, July 26th and 27th at 4:00 pm.  The event will he held at the La Valle Arena at E3420 Schultz Road, rain or shine.  Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-12 and children under 6 are free.  For more information, visit www.debraceyproductions.com

The Plain Fire & EMS 3-Day Celebration will take place Friday - Sunday, July 25-27th at the Plain Community Park. Friday night starts at 5:30 with baseball and kickball tournaments and live music from Swif Kick. Saturday gets underway at 9:00 am with baseball, kickball, volleyball and bean bag tournaments and live music at 8:00 pm from Buck Neck-ed. Sunday closes the celebration starting at 11:00 am with a parade and continues with a Chicken BBQ, baseball and kickall, fire truck rides and live music at 2:00 pm from Whiskey River Band.

 

Saturday, July 26

The 2nd annual Car & Tractor Show will be held on Saturday, July 26th at Sandusky UM Church. Registration will start at 7:30 am at a cost of $5 per vehicle or tractor. There will be a silent auction, face painting, games and food. Trophies will be handed out at 12:15 pm and silent auction items will be picked up at 12:30 pm.  The silent auction proceeds will benefit Weston and Loganville elementary schools. 

The 8th Annual Sandy Reetz Memorial Golf Scramble will take place on Saturday, July 26th at Quail Run Golf Links.  Shotgun start at 9:00 am, Noon and 3:00 pm.  Cost is $40 for 9 holes, prizes and lunch.  Sign up as a team or individual by calling Quail Run at 647-3117. All proceeds go to Walk With GRACE.

Benefit for Reginald Beighley will be held on Saturday, July 26 starting at Noon at Mick Memorial Park.  Money raised will assist Reginald with medical bills due to a motorcycle / deer accident. A silent auction and prize drawings will take place throughout the day.  For those that cannot attend but want to contribute, there is an account established at Richland County Bank.

St. Peter's Lutheran Church will host a Brat Stand on Saturday, July 26th at the Riverdale Ag Building from 11:00 - 1:00. Proceeds benefit Friends of the Muscoda Library.

 

Sunday, July 27

A Lymphoma Cancer Benefit will be held for Peg Mellem on Sunday, July 27th from Noon- 9:00 pm at the Phoenix Center.  Enjoy bowling at $15 for three games, silent auction and 50/50 raffles, live auction at 4:00 pm and live music. For more information, contact Ashley at 495-4206 or Pam at 475-2178.

The North Freedom United Methodist Church will host an Ice Cream Social on Sunday, July 27th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. 

The Heroes for Honor will host a special Maggie Mae Concert on Sunday, July 27th at 6:30 pm at the River Arts Center at the Sauk Priarie High School.  Tickets are $25  or $15 for Veterans, and are reserved seating.  To order tickets, call the River Arts Box Office at 608-643-5215.

The Richland Hospital will hold free blood pressure checks on Monday, July 28th from Noon - 4:00 pm.

The Brewer Public Library's Fizz, Boom, Read! Grand Finale will take place onTuesday, July 29th from 10:00-11:30 am at the Community Center.  Juggler, Doug the Jug will show off his extraordinary juggling feats. This is a free program and is open to Summer Library Program participants of all ages. 

 

Wednesday, July 30

The Muscoda American Legion Post 85 will host a Burger Night on Wednesday, July 30th from 4:00-8:00 pm at Muscoda's Railroad Park.  Proceeds will go to Muscoda's Veteran's Memorial to replace the Cracked US Flag Pole.

 

Thursday, July 31

The Richland Hospital will hold a Blood Drive with the Blood Center of Wisconsin on Thursday, July 31st from 11:00 - 4:00 in Pippin Hall of the hospital.  To make an appointment, contact Deanna Gochenaur at 647-6321 ext. 2413. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.

 

Saturday, August 2

The Riverdale Communities Education Foundation will host a Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Saturday, August 2nd at the Hickory Grove Golf Course.  Registration begins at 9:00 am with tee time at 10:00 am. The 92nd annual Braithwaite reunion will take place on Sunday, August 3rd at 1:00 pm at the American Legion Clubroom.  Please bring a dish to pass and your own table service.

Friday, August 8

Friends of the Kraemer Library and Community Center in Plain will sponsor "Party in the Pavilion" on Friday, August 8th from 7:30 - 9:00 pm in the Plain Community Park Pavilion.  Enjoy music from Better Daze and bring a picnic supper.
