Wednesday, March 4

The Village of Blue River is asking all residents to start running a stream of water the size of pencil lead until further notice.

 

The Weston National Honor Society will be co-hosting a blood drive with BloodCenter of Wisconsin on Wednesday, March 4  from Noon - 5:00 pm in the Weston High School gym. Students who are 16 years of age or older may donate with parent-guardian permission. Permission slips are located in the high school office. Sign-up sheets are also available in the high school office or please contact Kay Amborn at 986-2151 ext. 230 to make an appointment.

 

The Richland Center High School Spring Sports meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 4th.  Sign-up and fee collections will be from 4:30 - 5:30 pm with a parents meeting to follow.

The Blue River United Methodist Church will host a Free Community Meal on Wednesday, March 4th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Blue River Community Building.

 

The S.O.U.L. Kitchen will host a free community meal on Wednesday, March 4th from 5:30 - 7:00 at Town & Country Presbyterian Church.  To have a meal delivered please call 604-8047 by 3:00 pm the day of the meal.

Thursday, March 5

MOMS Of Richland Area will meet on Thursday, March 5th at 10:00 at 794 N. Jefferson in Richland Center.  All Moms and their children are welcome.  Questions please call 475-4558.

 

The Ancestors of Richland County Hills (ARCH) genealogy club and guests will meet Thursday, March 5 at 5:30 pm at the Brewer Library History Room.  The topic will be "country school attendance." 

 

River Valley Middle School will host a silent auction event next month in memory of Mr. Mike Griswold, a dedicated 7th grade Social Studies teacher and treasured colleague, who passed away in June of 2014.  Online bidding has begun at www.32auctions.com/rvms. Bidders must be 18 years or older. Online bidding ends on March 16th at 11:00 pm and will continue with the live silent auction on March 17th from 4:30 - 6:30 pm at the Spring Green Community Library. The highest bids from online will carry over as opening bids on the 17th. The auction is to raise funds to build an outdoor classroom to commemorate and honor Mr. Griswold.

 

Friday, March 6

A World Day of Prayer will be held on Friday, March 6th at 9:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Richland Center, with Five Points Lutheran presenting the lesson. All are welcome to attend.

The First Lutheran Church of Lone Rock will be holding the March Bake Shop on Saturday, March 7th from 8:00 - 11:00 am. The Breakfast Special is Ham & Cheese Scramble with roasted potatoes.

The Richland County Performing Arts Council is proud to announce that you can get your tickets in person for Vic Ferrari Symphony on the Rocks at the City Auditorium box office every Saturday morning from 8:00 - Noon until the concert on March 21.

 

Sunday, March 8

The Spring Green Knights of Columbus will host a Pancake Breakfast for Seminarian Scott Emerson on Sunday, March 8th from 7:30 - 10:30 am at St. John's Catholic Church of Spring Green.  Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children under 10.

 

The Ithaca Lions 8-Pin Tap will take place on Sunday, March 8th at the Phoenix Center. Shifts are at 10:00 am, 12:30 pm and 3:00. Adults are $10 and children are $6. Advance sign up available at the Phoenix Center by calling 649-7469.

Monday, March 9

The Richland Hospital will give free blood pressure checks on Monday, March 9th from Noon - 4:00 pm.

 

The Lone Rock Food Pantry will hold a distribution on Monday, March 9th from 5:00 - 6:00 pm at the Lone Rock Elementary. The pantry serves families whose children attend Lone Rock Elementary and citizens of Lone Rock.

 

Tuesday, March 10

The Avoca United Methodist Church's Men's Club will host its annual Pancake Supper on Tuesday, March 10th from 4:30 - 7:00 pm.  Cost is a free will offering.

 

The Lone Rock Catholic Church will host a Chili and Chicken Noodle Supper on Tuesday, March 10th from 4:30 - 6:30 pm. Cost is $7 and children 5 and under are free.

The Annual Understanding Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia and Memory Loss Workshop featuring Lori La Bey will hold two sessions in March.  Session one will be held on Thursday, March 12th from 8:30 - 3:00 in the Fred Lenz Conference Center at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore. The 1st River Valley Technology Fair will be held on Saturday, March 14th from 10:00 - 2:00 in the River Valley High School Cafeteria. Stop by and see the creative ways people in the River Valley area are using technology in schools, businesses and for personal use. This event is free and open to the public.

 

Avoca's St. Patrick's Parade will take place on Saturday, March 14th at 1:00 pm.

 

A benefit for Rick Hendricks will take place on Saturday, March 14th at Yoder's Rockville Bar in Potosi.  Rick underwent open heart surgery in December to receive an LVAD as a temporary solution while awaiting a heart transplant. The benefit will begin at 5:00 pm with food, an auction at 7:00, live music at 9:00 and much more. Sunday, March 15

Ss. Anthony and Philip Church of Highland will host its St. Pat's Dinner on Sunday, March 15th.  Mass will be held at 9:00 am with serving from 10:30 - 1:30. Cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children 6-12. Enjoy other activities such as raffles, various exhibits, Plants a Plenty Workshops and tours of the church.

The Richland Hospital will sponsor a Golf Conditioning program on Tuesday, March 31st from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the Richland Center High School.  Dave Knight will run the program to help with proper conditioning to get your golf swing off to a strong start.  Cost is $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
