Thursday, April 26

Lone Rock Village Wide Rummage Sales will be held from Thursday, April 26th through Saturday, April 28th. Maps and lists of items are available at Royal Bank, D&Z's One Stop and Lone Stop Shell or online at villageoflonerock.com. The First Lutheran Church in Lone Rock will hold a rummage sale each day and a bake shop and breakfast on Saturday from 8:00-10:30 AM. There will also be a brat stand fundraiser at D&Z's Car Wash starting at 9:00 AM each day. Money raised from the brat stand will go toward purchasing the Lone Rock Splash Pad.

The Ocooch Mountain Humane Society Animal House food stand will be serving Chicago Dogs, Wisconsin brats, Maxwell Street Polish and veggie burgers Thursday and Friday, April 26th and 27th from 10:00-2:00. The food stand is located in the Richland Center Community Center parking lot.

Weston's History Night will be held on Thursday, April 26th at the Weston Elementary School. The event begins with a special presentation by John Campbell from 5:30-6:30 PM in the cafeteria. John will be showing special artifacts and discuss a day in the life of a Civil War soldier. Following the presentation there will be a Social Studies Fair from 6:30-7:30 PM in the elementary gym. There will also be a bake sale at the event. Everyone is welcome to attend.

A special program on life and faith will take place at Kelly's Coffee on Thursday, April 26th from 7:00-8:00 PM. The LifeTree Cafe will include discussion on the state of education. For more information call 647-4141.

Friday, April 27

The Ithaca School District will hold 3 year old screenings on Friday, April 27th from 8:00-3:00. To schedule an appointment call 585-2311.

The Roses For Ronni brat and burger lunch fundraiser will be held at the Richland Center All American Do It Center on Friday, April 27th from 10:00-2:00 PM or until sold out. Money raised will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The Brewer Public Library will hold Everybody Storytime on Friday, April 25th at 10:30 AM at the library. Storytime is for children five and under. There will be stories, songs, activities, and a chance to learn early reading skills.

The Lone Rock 4th of July Celebration committee is looking for community organizations who may be interested in volunteering for fundraising efforts for the celebration this year. For more information or if your organization is interested call 608-485-0687.

Saturday, April 28

The Hillsboro FFA pancake breakfast will take place on April 28th from 6:00-11:00 AM at the Hillsboro High School Cafeteria. Cost for adults is $5, kids age 6 to 12 are $2 and children 5 and under are free.

The Iowa County Cancer Coalition will hold a Drive One Event on Saturday, April 28th at Fillback Ford in Highland from 8:00-1:00. All test drives will support the Iowa County Cancer Coalition.

The W.H Bennett unit 71 will hold the Woman's Relief Corp State Convention on Saturday April 28th at the White House/Ramada. Registration will run from 9:00-10:00 AM. The meeting will follow. All WRC members are encouraged to attend. For more information call 647-9005.

The Richland County Bank Walk with GRACE team will be serving pulled pork at the bank on Saturday, April 28th from 10:00 AM until gone.

The Kickapoo Spring Fling will take place on Saturday, April 28th starting at 3:00 PM at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve. Events include a plant walk, crafts, games, a silent auction, raffles and more. Cost for adults is $10, kids age 6-12 are $5 and children 5 and under are free. Proceeds will be split between the Sister City Project and the Kickapoo Valley Reserve.

Sunday, April 29

The Richland Center Knights of Columbus will serve a pancake breakfast on Sunday, April 29th from 8:30-12:00 PM in the St Mary’s Church basement.

The Sauk County Horse Tack and Craft event will be held on May 12th from 9:00-2:00 at the Sauk County Fairgrounds in Baraboo. Proceeds will help with a new barn and stalls.There will be a lunch stand on the grounds. The event is being sponsored by the Sauk county horse project. Cost per table is $20.00. Registration may be made by calling 608-393-1985.

Monday, April 30

UW Richland will host an open forum featuring Brandon Fetterly, candidate for the Interim Dean position, on Monday, April 30th at UW Richland from 10:30–11:30 AM in the Pippin Conference Center of Melvill Hall. The public is welcome to attend.

Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will hold a distribution on Monday, April 30th in Highland. The distribution will be from 4:30-5:30 PM at Ss. Anthony and Phillip Parish. Registration will begin at 4:00 PM.

The Richland Center High School will hold a blood drive on Thursday, May 3rd in the high school gym from 9:00-2:00. Appointments can be made by calling 1-800-733-2767 or by visiting redcrossblood.org. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Richland County Friends of Animals are teaming up with Funds2Orgs to raise funds to upgrade the cattery. A shoe drive fundraiser will run from now through June 13th. Gently worn/used and new shoes may be dropped off at the following locations in Richland Center: WCCU, Richland County Bank, Mr. G's, Walsh's Ace, VARC, Phoenix Center, and at 488 W. 2nd Street. Shoes may also be dropped off at the Shoe Box in Black Earth. Funds2Orgs will pay the Richland County Friends of Animals $0.40 per pound of shoes with shoes going to families in need. Tuesday, May 1

The Harmonie's Hope Juvenile Diabetes Team will hold a tractor ride fundraiser event on Saturday, May 19th. The event will start at the Boaz Park Shelter at 9:00 AM and will cover approximately 40 to 50 miles. Cost per tractor is $25 and that includes the meal. Cost for an adult wagon rider is $20 and children wagon riders are $11 with both tickets also including a meal. Cost for an additional meal is $10 each. There will also be door prizes. Wednesday, May 2

The Blue River United Methodist Church will serve a free community meal on Wednesday, May 2nd from 5:00-6:30 PM at the Blue River Community Building.

Schmitt Woodland Hills will hold a Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday May 13th from 10:30-2:00. This event is open to the public. Cost for adults is $13, children age 6-12 are $7 and kids 5 and under are free. Reservations are required and may be done by calling 647-8931.

Thursday, May 3

The Richland County Ministerial Association will host this year's National Day of Prayer program on Thursday, May 3rd on the Richland County Court House lawn from 12:00-1:00 PM. In case of rain the event will take place at Park Street Christian Church.

Friday, May 4

St. Barnabas Episcopal Church of Richland Center will hold a rummage sale on Friday, May 4th from 8:30-4:00 and Saturday, May 5th from 8:30-2:00 at the church. There will also be brats for sale and a bake sale both days.

A special Church Women United presentation will be held on Friday, May 4th at 9:00 AM at St. Mary's Keysville. Lisa Muth will speak on Human Trafficking and the new SHIELD program. Fellowship of the Least Coin offering will be taken.

St. Luke Church in Plain will hold a family style fish fry on Friday, May 4th from 5:00-8:00 PM at the church. Carry-outs will be available. The church hall is handicapped accessible.

Saturday, May 5

The 2018 Richland Area Farmers Market season will begin on Saturday, May 5th. The market will run from 7:30-12:30 and will be located on the Richland County Courthouse lawn.

The township of Eagle will hold spring clean-up days on Saturdays, May 5th and May 12th from 8:00-12:00 both days.A recycle attendant will be on duty, along with an Eagle Township Board member to help with Spring Clean Up in Eagle.

The Hillpoint Fire Department will hold a smelt feed on Saturday, May 5th from 4:30-7:30 PM at the Hillpoint VFW.

Sunday, May 6

The Otter Creek Lutheran Church will hold a pancake breakfast on Sunday, May 6th from 8:00-12:30 at the church. Cost for a meal is $7.50 for adults and $4.50 for kids under 12. The church is located between Dodgeville and Highland at the intersection of County Roads Q and P.

Monday, May 7

Richland Center Tourism will sponsor the "Wright of Spring" event on Saturday, June 2nd from 11:00-5:00 in downtown Richland Center. There will be food carts, music and a vintage vehicle show. Those looking to take part in the vehicle show are asked to pre-register by calling 604-5034. Automobiles that pre-date World War 2 are being sought. Guests are encouraged to dress for the period of the 1900s through the 1930s.

Thursday, May 10

The United Church of Muscoda Presbyterian will serve a mission breakfast on Thursday, May 10th from 6:00 until gone at the church. A free will offering will be taken.

Saturday, May 12

The Citizens' Climate Lobby will hold a special presentation on Saturday, May 12th at 3:00 PM at the Richland Center Community Center in Meeting Room A. Meteorologist Bob Lindmeier will speak on climate change. Everyone is invited to attend.

Monday, May 14

UW Richland will host an open forum featuring Patrick Hagen, candidate for the Interim Dean position, on Monday, May 14th from 10:30–11:30 AM in the Pippin Conference Center of Melvill Hall. The public is welcome to attend.

Tuesday, May 22

The Eagle Country Aging and Disability Resource Center will offer walk in appointments on Tuesday, May 22nd at the Lone Rock Library from 1:00-3:00 PM. Walk in appointments will be available for those with disabilities and those over the age of 60 to speak with a specialist who can offer information on public benefits.
