Tuesday, April 21

The Lone Rock Community Library will host an Open House to welcome new library director, Martha Bauer, on Tuesday, April 21st from 11:00 - 7:00. Stop in, say hi and learn about the upcoming events for the library.

Richland County Health & Human Services will host a Free Enrollment Assistance Event on Tuesday, April 21st from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. The federal government has announced a one-time special health insurance enrollment period for individuals and families who were uninsured in 2014, now through April 30, 2015.

A Free Legal Clinic will be held on Tuesday, April 21st from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the Richland County Courthouse.


The County Deer Advisory Council will meet Tuesday, April 21st at 7:00 pm in the East Hall of UW-Richland Campus.


Wednesday, April 22

Animal House, the Ocooch Mountain Humane Society food stand, will serve its Red Hot Chicago Dogs, Wisconsin Brats, and Maxwell Street Polish dogs on Wednesday - Friday, April 22-24 at 9:30 am at Ed's Family Foods parking area.  


An American Red Cross Hillsboro Community Blood Drive will take place on Wednesday, April 22nd from 10:00 - 4:00 at the Hillsboro Firemen's Communty Center. To make an appointment, call 1-800-RED-CROSS (733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org


Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will hold a Distribution in Gays Mills on Wednesday, April 22nd from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at the Gays Mills Community Building.


Doudna PTO will host a Culver's Share Night in Richland Center on Wednesday, April 22nd from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. 


The Richland Hospital will sponsor a Dietitian-Led Grocery Tour on Wednesday, April 22nd from 6:00 -7:00 pm at Burnstad's Market. Please pre-register by calling the Richland Hosptial at 647-6321. 


Labor Support classes at the Richland Hospital will begin on Wednesday, April 22nd. Classes will take place the 4th Wednesday every other month from 6:00 - 9:00 pm.


The Kickapoo Woods Cooperative will be hosting a free Beneficial Bats Lecture and Hike on Wednesday, April 22 at 7:00 pm at Hillsboro Brewing Company banquet room. Citizen-based Monitoring Programs seek volunteers to assist with monitoring and data collection for wildlife, plants, and various environmental parameters. The Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin will host a Memory Cafe on Thursday, April 23rd from 9:30 - 11:30 am at the Richland Center Woodman Senior Center. For more information, contact Becky DeBuhr at 723-4288.


The 2015 Richland County Plat Books, sponsored by Richland County 4-H, have arrived and are available at the Richland County Extension Office, the Richland County Clerk’s Office at the Courthouse, The Frame Corner, Walsh's Ace, Boaz Country Store, and the Richland County Land Conservation Office.


Friday, April 24

The Lone Rock Village-Wide Garage Sale will take place Friday and Saturday, April 24th and 25th. Maps are available at Royal Bank, DZ's and Shell.


Muscoda Day School will host a Smelt Feed on Friday, April 24, from 4:00 to 8:00 at 1061 Blue River Road in Muscoda. The cost of the meal is donations only.


The St. John’s Walk with GRACE teamwill sponsor an All-You-Can-Eat Pizza Buffet Fundraiser on Friday, April 24th from 4:30 - 7:30 pm at the Phoenix Center.  Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Silent auction items and raffle door prizes available. Enjoy music by Elite Harmony at 7:30 pm.


Saturday, April 25

The Woman's Relief Corp Department meeting will take place on Saturday, April 25th at 10:00 am, with lunch to follow, at the White House.


Grant County 4-H Horse & Pony project invite area youth to attend a Gymkhana Clinic on Saturday, April 25th from 10:00 - 3:00 at Mueller’s Indoor Arena in Montfort. The Annual Kickapoo Valley Reserve Spring Fling Benefit will take place on Saturday, April 25 the from 3:00 - 9:00 pm.  Activities will include: a plant identification walk, nature walk with binoculars, water quality activities, kite flying, natural play area, star gazing, music, silent auction, raffle and more. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Kickapoo Valley Reserve and the Richland Center - Santa Teresa Sister City Project. Cost is $10 and children 12 and under free. Monday, April 27

The Richland Hospital will hold free blood pressure checks on Monday, April 27th from Noon - 4:00 pm.


The Richland Center District Wide Art Show is open to the public April 27th-30th from 4:00-6:00 pm at RCHS in the West Commons and Main Hall. The closing reception will take place on May 1st from 4:00-7:00 pm.

Wednesday, April 29

The Ralph Nuzum Lecture Series: Passenger Pigeon will take place on Wednesday, April 29th at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve. Explore the ecology and life history of the passenger pigeon and other extinct and endangered birds, current extinction crises, endangered species recovery and more from presenter Stanley Temple. Refreshments and socializing will begin at 6:30 pm, with the talk at 7:00.


Thursday, April 30

Area residents are invited to a Forum of Education to learn about the potential impacts of the state budget on education. Julie Mead, a Professor of Education at UW-Madsion, Rachel Schultz, Richland School District Administrator, and Patrick Hagen, Dean of the UW-Richland will be the speakers. The forum is open to everyone Thursday evening, April 30, at 7:00 in Room 102 of the Science Building at UW-Richland.


Friday, May 1

Make your reservation by May 1st for the 40 et 8 Promenade to be held on May 7th at American Legion Post 13 in Richland Center. The meal will be served at 7:00 pm with business to follow. All 40 et 8 members are encouraged to attend. Please call Correspondant Cecil for the meal reservation.


Church Women United Friendship Day will be Friday, May 1st at 9:00 am at St. Mary's Keysville, with the lesson Journey of the Caregiver given by the women of St. Mary's Richland. All are welcome to attend.


St. Luke's Church in Plain will host it's Family Style Fish Fry on Friday, May 1st from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Carry-outs are available.


Taste of Spring Green will take place Friday, May 1st from 5:00 - 8:00 pm and Saturday, May 2nd from Noon - 3:00 pm.  Participating businesses include Pamela's Fine Jewelry, Bird of Paradise, The General Store, Stage Stop, Nina's and more.  More information is available at the Spring Green Chamber of Commerce.


Saturday, May 2

The Town of Marshall will hold its Spring Clean-Up day on Saturday, May 2nd from 8:00 - Noon at the Town Hall Recycle Center. For more information, contact the Town Clerk at 475-1909.


Town Of Eagle Spring Clean-Up will take place on Saturdays, May 2 and 9 from 8:00 - Noon. No Batteries, Tires, used oil, or any kind chemicals will be accepted.  If you have any questions, please call Eagle Town Chairman, Marc Couey at 608-739-3286.


The Richland County Fair and Recycling Committee will hold a recycling collection on Saturday, May 2nd from 9:00 - Noon at the Richland County Fairgrounds.


The Hillpoint Fire Department Annual Smelt Feed will take place on Saturday, May 2nd from 4:30 - 8:30 pm at the Hillpoint VFW Hall. Advance tickets are $9.50 or $10 at the door. Children 7-11 are $5 and children 6 and under are free.


Sunday, May 3

The Otter Creek Lutheran Church in Highland will host its Annual All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, May 3rd from 8:00 am - 12:30 pm. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12. 


Thursday, May 7

Anyone interested in becoming an EMT from the Lone Rock or surrounding area, is invited to attend the EMT meeting on Thursday, May 7th at 7:00 pm at the Lone Rock Fire Station.


Saturday, May 9

Motorsports Mayhem will take place on Saturday, May 9th at the Richland County Fairgrounds. Admission is $10, kids 12 and under are free. Events begin at 9:00 am with a Loud Pipe Contest for snowmobiles, ATVs and motorcycles, and will end the night with Truck and Car Drags starting at 10:00 pm. Other events include Pedal Pull, Demo Derby, Snowmobile and ATV drag races and truck pulls.


The Promise Walk for Preeclampsia will take place on Saturday, May 9th at Krouskop Park. Registration begins at 10:30 am with the Walk and 5K starting at 11:00.


The Yuba Fire Department 35th Annual Smelt Feed will take place on Saturday, May 9th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Yuba Community Center. Cost is $10 for adults and children under 8 are $5. 


Wednesday, May 13
