Wednesday, December 17

The S.O.U.L. Kitchen will host a community meal on Wednesday, December 17 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm at Town and Country Presbyterian Church.  For a delivered meal, please call 604-8047 by 3:00 pm the day of the meal.

A reminder from the Richland Center Wastewater Utility, that the Pine River Recreation Trail from Seminary Street to Gotham will be closed now until spring of 2015 to allow for the completion of the the forcemain installation to the new Wastewater Treatment Facility.  All public access to the trail will be prohibited.

 

Thursday, December 18

The Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin will host a Memory Cafe on Thursday, December 18th from 9:30 - 11:30 am at the Richland Center Woodman Senior Center.

The Weston National Honor Society will be co-hosting a blood drive with BloodCenter of Wisconsin on Thursday, December 18th from Noon - 5:00 pm in the Weston High School gym.  Students who are 16 years or older may donate with parent-guardian permission. Permission slips are located in the high school office. Sign-up sheets are also available in the high school office or you can contact Kay Amborn at 608-986-2151, ext. 230 to make an appointment.

Richland County Health and Human Services-Public Health will offer an Immunization Clinic on Thursday, December 18th from 1:00 - 5:00 pm at the Community Services Building.  These clinics offer all routine childhood vaccines to children covered by BadgerCare or those without vaccine coverage.  Please note the different date for this clinic as Christmas falls on the 4th Thursday.

The Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will hold a distribution in Richland Center on Thursday, December 18th from 3:30 - 5:00 pm at Richland Center Fellowship.  Those in line by 4:00 will be guaranteed a full share.

The Kickapoo High School Annual Holiday Dinner will be held on Thursday, December 18th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm in the High School All Purpose Room.  The meal is free and there will be a raffle and silent auction items. All money raised will go to the Viola Food Pantry. Santa and Mrs. Clause will also be in attendance.

Make your reservation by Thursday, December 18th for the 8th Annual Christmas Bake Sale and Lunch at the Rockbridge Meal Site, to be held on Friday, December 19 from 9:30 until gone. Santa Claus will be here at 11:00, lunch is served at 11:30 and there wil be a Christmas gift exchange after lunch. If you wish to participate, please bring a $5 gift.  To make a reservation, call 647-9187.

 

Friday, December 19

Five Points Church Women will host a Bake Sale on Friday, December 19th at 9:00 am at the Richland County Bank.

The Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will host a distribution in Gays Mills on Friday, December 19th from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at 212 Main Street, Gays Mills.

The Wolf Country Band will be playing at the Richland Center Woodman Senior Center on Friday, December 19th from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. 

 

Saturday, December 20

A Sugar Grove Church Blood Drive will take place on Saturday, December 20th from 8:00 - Noon in the church basement. To make an appointment, call Dennis at 538-3121, or register online at redcrossblood.org

The Viola Food Pantry will hold a distribution on Saturday, December 20th from 9:00 - 11:00 am at the United Methodist Church of Viola.  The pantry serves residents of the Kickapoo School District that need help meeting adequate food needs. Please bring your driver's license and a current utility bill as proof of address.  Donations are always welcome and may be dropped off at Citizen's First Bank- Viola, the Viola Village Office, or Viola United Methodist Church.  If you have any questions, please call 627-1910.

The Richland County Senior Nutrition Program and Meals on Wheels of Richland County, in partnership with Richland Center’s JC Penny Store and Associates, will host a Bake Sale Fundraiser on December 20th from 9:00 - 1:00.  All proceeds will be donated to the Richland County Senior Nutrition Program in order to help us keep equipment updated and support a valuable program for the Seniors of Richland County.

The RCHS Cheerleaders will have one last gift wrapping fundraiser at the Cheese Cellar on Saturday, December 20th from 10:00 - 3:00.

Children grades K-3 are invited to a free "Trim the tree" story hour at Brewer Public Library on Saturday, December 20th from 10:30 - 11:30 am. 

 

Sunday, December 21

The children of Peace and Trinity United Methodist Churches, along with the Senior Choir, will host a free concert on Sunday, December 21st at 7:00 pm at Peace United Methodist Church. For more information, please call 647-4559.

 

Monday, December 22

The University of Wisconsin-Richland phone system will be upgraded on Monday, December 22. The switch over to the new system will occur from Noon - 1:00pm, in which there will be no phone service.

The Richland Hospital will host a free blood pressure check on Monday, December 22nd from Noon - 4:00 pm.

The American Legion Post 13 has tickets for sale for a Valentine's Get Away. Win a 3 day, 2 night stay at Christmas Mountain Resort in a two bedroom villa, free skiing/tubing/lift tickets and a 50 minute couples massage at Spa Rhapsody. Dates are for February 13-15. Tickets are $10.00 each with only 150 available. The drawing will take place on January 15.

 

Wednesday, December 24

The First Baptist Church in Richland Center invites everyone to a Christmas Eve Service at 6:00 pm. The service will feature scripture reading, music and a short message.

Grace Community Church will host a Candlelight Christmas Eve Service  on Wednesday, December 24 at 7:00 pm. If you have any questions, please call 647-2222.

 

Friday, January 2

There will be a retirement open house for Michele Nolen-Karras on Friday, January 2nd from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at the Brewer Public Library in the lower level. All are welcome.

 

Tuesday, January 6

The Richland Center Food Pantry will hold a distribution on Tuesday, January 6th from 4:00 - 5:30 pm at Town & Country Presbyterian Church.

There will be a Free Legal Clinic on Tuesday, January 6th from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the Richland County Courthouse.
