Tuesday, August 4

Vacation Bible School at Park Street Christian Church will take place August 4th - 6th. Preschool- 5th grade and adults will meet from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, and 6th grade through college age will meet from 8:00  -9:30 pm. This year's theme is Putting on the Full Armor of God.


Wednesday, August 5

The Walk With GRACE Office will be closed Wednesday, August 5th, but will be open on Thursday the 6th from 10:00 - 2:00.


Register by August 5th for the Vernon County 4-H Super Science Bus Tour for 4-H members, parents, & friends.  Tour the Montfort Wind Farm, Biddick, Inc. (the company that produces Rural Route 1 popcor) and Jung’s seed) and Immuno-Dynamics, an immunology company. The bus will pick up in Viroqua and Boscobel. Cost is $20 each for 4-H members and parents, $30 for non 4-H member. Call the Vernon County UW Extension Office at 637-5276, to register. A Hillsboro Community Blood Drive will take place on Wednesday, August 5 from 10:00 - 4:00 at the Hillsboro Firemen's Community Center. To make an appointment, call 1-800-RED CROSS (733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org.


Ash Creek United Methodist Church will host an Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, August 5 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.  Cost is $8 for adults, children 5-11 are $4.50 and children under 5 are free.

Blue River United Methodist Church will host Free Community Meal on Wednesday, August 5 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Blue River Community Building.
Hill Country Classic Power will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, August 5 at 8:00 pm at the Phoenix Center.


Reserve your seat now for the Richland Center Women's Connection "Traveling Light" breakfast buffet to be held on Tuesday, August 11 at 9:15 am at the White House.  Music will be provided by Gretchen and Bryndalyn Kanable. The Richland Hospital will host a Safe Sitter Course Tuesday and Wednesday, August 11 and 12 at the hospital.  Cost is $20 and includes a manual, Completion Card and Child and infant CPR Cards.  Pre-registration is required by calling 647-6321 et. 2203. Children must be 11 or older on the date of the class.


Thursday, August 6

The Richland Hospital will hold a silent Auction now through Friday, August 7 at Noon in the 4th Floor Lobby (near Rehab).


Five Points Lutheran Church will host its Annual Ice Cream and Pie Social on Thursday, August 6 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. Cost is $8 for adults, children 6-13 are $4 and children under 6 are free.


The Ancestors of Richland County Hills (ARCH) genealogy club will meet Thursday, August 6 at 5:30 p.m. at the Yuba Community Center parking lot. The group will visit the East Pine Cemetery, St. Wenceslaus Church, the Community Center, and the Opera House. Don Huffman will discuss Yuba history and we'll share memories from yesteryears. To car pool, meet at the Brewer Library before 5:15.


The 40 et 8 Promenade will be held on Thursday, August 6 at American Legion Post 13. The meal starts 7:00 pm with the business to follow.  Please note this is a location change. All 40 et 8 members are encouraged to attend for installation of Officers.


Performances for the musical “Mary Poppins” will take place tonight Thursday through Sunday (August 6-9) at the Richland Center High School Auditorium. Performance times will be at 7:00 PM with the exception of 1:30 PM matinee performance on Sunday. Tickets are available at Ed's Family Foods and Gordy's Market in Richland Center, and will also be available at the door on performance dates. There will also be a $50 family package ticket available only at the door that will admit two adults and any number of children.

The Nascar Fans United Walk With GRACE Team will host a Brat Stand with Pork Loin Sandwiches on Friday, August 7 from 10:00 - 2:00 at Ed's Family Foods.


Saturday, August 8

St. John's Lutheran of Richland Center will host a Men's Breakfast Saturday, August 8tgh at 8:00 am in the fellowship hall. All men are welcome.


St. John's Lutheran Church (479 S. Park Street) will host a GRACE Brat and Hot Dog Stand on Saturday, August 8th from 9:00 - 2:00 at the church.


Sunday, August 9

The Shopping News/Xpress Printing Walk With GRACE Team will host a Chicken Barbecue on Sunday, August 9th from 11:00 am until gone, at the Shopping News.


An Elk Feed for Veterans in Need Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, August 9 starting at Noon at Kaul Park in Bear Valley.  Cost is $10.  Whiskey River Band will provide music.


Monday, August 10

Walk With GRACE T-shirt Day will be on Monday, August 10. Wear your team GRACE shirt to support and promote the event.


Tuesday, August 11

The Richland Hospital will host a Newborn Education Class on Tuesday, August 11 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  For more information, contact the Birth Cetner at 647-6321.


Wednesday, August 12

Richland County Health and Human Service-Public Health will host an Immunization Clinic on Wednesday, August 12 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at the Community Services Building. These immunization clinics offer all routine childhood vaccines for children covered by BadgerCare or don't have vaccine coverage.


The Brewer Public Library Summer Reading Program Wrap Up Party will take place on Wednesday, August 12 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. Enjoy a snow cone, special prizes and treats, and the awarding of our summer reading grand prizes.


GRACE will host a Share Night at Papa Murphy's on Wednesday, August 12 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. 10% of all sales during that time will go to GRACE.


The Walk With GRACE Survivor and Captains Night will take place on Wednesday, August 12 at 5:00 pm at the Phoenix Center. Teams will turn in their packets with donations and have an opportunity to hear the stories of this year's Ambassadors.


Thursday, August 13

Chieftain Marching Band rehearsals for the Blue River Autumn Fest Parade and Pep Band, will begin on Thursday, August 13th, and continue the following Monday - Thursday, August 17th - 20th at 6:00 pm in the REMS Band Room. (Please note the location change). Please attend any rehearsals you can.

The Autumn Fest Parade will be on Sunday, August 23rd at 2:00. If you are meeting us in Blue River, please be at old school parking lot at 1:45. Bus times for the parade are 1:15 in Avoca and 1:30 in Muscoda. Attire will be Riverdale Polo shirts and khaki shorts.


Friday, August 14

Walk With GRACE will take place on Friday, August 14 at Krouskop Park. Opening Ceremony will be at 6:00 pm with the Luminary Ceremony at 9:00.


Sunday, August 16

St. John Nepomuc Church, Castle Rock Ridge, will host its annual Chicken Noodle Soup, Chicken and Ham Dinner on Sunday, August 16 from 10:00 - 2:30. Enjoy the Country Store, games and refreshments as well.


Tuesday, August 18

The Richland Hospital will host a free Diabetes Support Group on Teusday, August 18 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm. For more information, contact a Dietitian at 647-6321.


Wednesday, August 19

The Richland Hospital will host a Labor and Deliver Support Class on Wednesday, August 19 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. For more information, call the Birth Center at 647-6321.


Thursday, August 20

The Annual Sweet Corn Festival in Sun Prairie will take place Thursday, August 20 through Sunday August 23 at Angell Park. Enjoy live music, comedy, obstacle course, craft fair, paintball and more. A parade will take place Thursday at 6:00 pm, tractor pull Friday at 6:00 pm and Midget Auto Racing Sunday at 7:00 pm. Wristband nights are Thursday and Friday from 6:00 - 10:00 for $20.  Admission is $1. Parking is $5 and includes admission.
