Monday, December 5

The Richland Center American Legion Auxiliary Unit 13 will hold their next meeting on Monday, December 5th, at the post. A potluck will be served at 6:15 with the meeting to follow. Members are asked to bring a food pantry item to donate.

The Wauzeka-Steuben High School Drama Club will present their Christmas production of "A Christmas Carol" on Monday, December 5th at 7:00. Cost for a ticket is $3.

The 2016 Rotary Lights in the Park is open at Krouskop Park. The display operates each night, as weather allows, through December 31st. Walk through viewing runs from 6:00-7:00, with the drive through taking place from 7:00-9:00.

The Richland Center Women's Connection will hold a breakfast buffet on Tuesday, December 13th at 9:15 at the White House Banquet Facilities. The theme for this meeting will be "The Spitit of Christmas." Cost for the buffet is $10. Music will be provided by the Dischords, and Anna Marie Tornow from Wisconsin Rapids will be the featured speaker. Everyone is invited to attend this meeting. Lone Rock businesses are looking to give back this holiday season by offering a bicycle giveaway. Children from the area can sign up and 2 lucky children will ride away with a new bike. Sign up at D n Z's One Stop in Lone Rock for free. Drawing will be December 21st.

St. Barnabas Episcopal Church of Richland Center invites you to the Dickens Dinner on Saturday, December 17th at 6:30 pm.  A gourmet dinner is served in five courses while the story of Dickens' A Christmas Carol is told in five staves.  Tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for persons 6–18.  To make your reservation, call (608) 649-6003 and leave a message indicating how many will attend. The Lone Rock Community Food Pantry is partnering with "Buckets for Hunger, Incorporated." The program will match 35¢ for every $1 that you donate up to a maximum of $3,000. Every dollar contributed helps to buy about 10 pounds of food through this matching funds program. If you wish to make a donation to the program this year, please make checks payable to "Buckets for Hunger" and send them in care of the Lone Rock Community Food Pantry to P.O. Box 195, Lone Rock WI 53556. Checks to be considered for the program are due by December 20th.

Tuesday, December 6

A free legal clinic will be held on Tuesday, December 6th, from 4:00-6:00 at the Richland County Courthouse.

Wednesday, December 7

The next regional pastured pork production meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 7th, from 10:00-2:00 in the Crawford County meeting room at the County Highway Department located just south of Seneca at the corner of Hwy 27 and County E. The event is for farmers interested in forming a pastured pork farmers cooperative. Reservations may be made by contacting Mike Mueller at 608-412-0725.

The Blue River United Methodist Church will hold a free community supper on Wednesday, December 7th, from 5:00-6:30 at the Blue River Community Building.

The Ultimate Christmas Party, sponsored by Christmas Across America will be held twice in Richland Center. The first will be Wednesday, December 7th, at Doudna Elementary. The second will be held on Wednesday, December 14th, at Jefferson Elementary. Each party will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 PM and are free of charge. All children ages 5 to 12 are invited to enjoy songs, games, a Bible story, and snacks. Parents are also welcome to attend.

Thursday, December 8

The Brewer Public Library hosts baby storytime for infants 24 months and under every Thursday morning at 10:30. Those attending will read books, sing, and have the opportunity to meet other area parents.

UW-Extension Family Living Agent, Chelsea Wunnicke will present a food preservation presentation at the Brewer Public Library on Thursday, December 8th, at 2:00. Information on canning, freezing, and drying for holiday food gifts will be the focus of this presentation. The event is free and open to the public. The Weston School District's "Pack the Pantry" Food Drive, sponsored by Weston’s Future Business Leaders of America, is going on now through December 9th. Aside from the School District, donations can also be dropped off at State Bank of Cazenovia, Carr Valley Cheese, Caz Country Club, Soltwedel’s Store, Alibi’s Bar & Grill, Branding Iron Roadhouse and Neumann’s Bar & Grill.

Friday, December 9

The Circle A Christmas Bake Sale will be held on Friday evening, December 9th, from 4:00-5:45 at the Avoca Royal Bank. 

Partners of the Richland Hospital will hold a bake sale on Friday, December 9th, at Richland County Bank and the Richland Hospital from 8:30 until sold out.

The Gloria Homeschool Choir will be in concert Friday night, December 9th, at 7:00 at the First Baptist Church in Richland Center. All are welcome to attend.

The Spring Green Charity Tree Auction will be held on Friday, December 9th, at 7:00 at Arthur's. The chamber event helps raise money for local charities. Light appetizers will be provided. There will also be a cash bar, and a silent auction.

Saturday, December 10

A Christmas craft show and bake sale will be held on Saturday, December 10th, from 9:00-2:30 at the Avoca Community Building. There will be a large variety of crafts and treats. Santa will arrive to the event at 12:00 and the Betty Hayes dancers will perform at 12:30.

The Muscoda Friends of the Library Christmas bake sale will take place on Saturday, December 10th, from 8:00-1:30 in the Muscoda Library. Santa will be at the event at 12:30.

Santa will be at the Lone Rock Community Building on Saturday, December 10th, from 10:00-12:00 to see all the children.

The Boscobel Community Empty Stocking fundraiser will take place on Saturday, December 10th, from 2:30 until gone at Pat and Greg's Pour House. The fundraiser helps provide families in need with food baskets during the Christmas season. Donations are to be taken to Pat and Greg's Pour House between Thursday, December 8th, and 9:00 Saturday morning (Dec. 10th). A Benefit Soup Dinner will be held for 9-year old Brady Bloedow on Saturday, December 10, beginning at 4:00 PM at the Franklin Masonic Lodge in Lone Rock. The meal will include potato soup or chili, a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, dessert, and drink. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Proceeds will go toward Brady's cancer treatment.

Sunday, December 11

Community ping pong will be held at the Richland Center High School on Sunday, December 11th. Those interested in taking part are to meet in the east commons for open play. Community ping pong meets Sundays from 4:00-6:00. Cost for adults is $2 and college students is $1.

The Apostolic Faith Church in Richland Center will hold a Christmas concert on Sunday, December 11th, at 5:00 at the church.

Monday, December 12

The Riverdale Lettermen's Club fruit sale call-in orders will be available for pick up starting Monday, December 12th. All orders must be picked up during the week of December 12th.

Santa will be at Brewer Public Library to meet children and families on Monday, December 12th, from 4:00-6:30. Children are invited to stop by for a visit, make a craft, and receive a free picture with Santa provided by Anna Arms Photography.

Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will hold a food distribution in Highland on Monday, December 12th, from 4:30-5:30 at Ss. Anthony and Phillip Church.

The Weston School District invites you to get your photo with Santa on Monday, December 12th from 6:00 - 7:30 pm in the Weston High School Cafeteria.  Free will offering with proceeds going to the Badger Honor Flight Program.

The Brewer Public Library will hold a kid's STEM workshop on Monday, December 12th, at 6:30. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and experiment with static electricity using holiday decorating materials. All ages are welcome to this event. The program is free and open to the public.

Tuesday, December 13

The next Hillsboro Community Blood Drive will take place on Tuesday, December 13th, from 10:00-4:00 at the Hillsboro Firemen's Community Center. To make an appointment call 1-800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblood.org. Walk-ins will also be welcome.

The regular meeting of the Boaz Village Board will be held Tuesday evening, December 13th, at 6:00 at the Boaz Community Building Office.

The Spring Green Community Church will hold their monthly grief support group on Tuesday, December 13th, from 6:30-8:30. Those who take part in the support group will share memories and learn about the grief process. For more information contact the church office at 588-2442.

The next SMART Recovery addiction group meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 13th, from 7:00-8:30 in the lower level of the Richland Hospital.

Wednesday, December 14

Home Health United will hold a drop in grief support group for adults who have experienced a loss the second Wednesday of each month at the Richland County Courthouse. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 14th, from 9:00-10:30. No registration is required and there is no cost to attend. The group is supported by the Richland County Veterans Service Office. Military veterans and their adult family members are welcome to attend. The Richland Center VFW Post 2267 and auxiliary will sponsor the Tomah Veterans Hospital fundraiser at the Richland County Bank lobby on Wednesday, December 14th, from 9:00-3:30. All items donated will be taken to the Tomah VA for veterans residing there. Some suggested donation items include hygiene products, blankets, and crossword puzzles. Cash donations will also be accepted. A check will be presented to the Tomah Veterans Hospital along with the items.

Richland County Health and Human Services will hold a flu clinic during the next Immunization Clinic on Wednesday, December 14th, from 1:00-4:30 at the Richland County Health and Human Services Building.

The Jim Gorman Band will perform at the Pine Valley Community Village on Wednesday, December 14th at 2:00 in the community room. All are welcome to attend.

Thursday, December 15

The Vernon County Health Department will hold an Immunization Clinic on Thursday, December 15th, from 9:00-11:30 and again from 4:30-6:00 at the Viroqua Health Department. The clinic is for those who are uninsured, have Medicaid, BadgerCare or if their insurance doesn't cover the vaccine. A $2 donation is requested. For more information call 637-5251.

Partners of the Richland Hospital will hold a collective goods sale on Thursday, December 15th, in the Richland Hospital lower level from 9:00-3:00.

Saturday, December 17

The Viola United Methodist Church will host a food pantry on Saturday, November 19th from 9:00-11:00. The food pantry runs every third Saturday of the month.

Sunday, December 18

The Apostolic Faith Church in Richland Center will hold their Children's Christmas Program on Sunday, December 18th, at 5:00 at the church.

Wednesday, December 21

The Richland Hospital will hold a free labor support class on Wednesday, December 21st, from 6:00-9:00 at the Richland Hospital. For more information call the Birth Center at 647-6321.

Tuesday, December 27

The next SMART Recovery addiction group meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 27th, from 7:00-8:30 in the lower level of the Richland Hospital.
