Wednesday, November 22

The Richland Community Food Pantry will hold a distribution on Wednesday, November 22nd from 4:00-5:30 at the Lighthouse Chapel. The Richland Community Food Pantry is in need of bags for bagging items for recipients. Anyone that can drop off reusable and clean paper bags and recyclable bags of any type are asked to bring them to the Lighthouse chapel anytime after 1:00 PM on Wednesdays.

The Richland Hospital will hold a breastfeeding class on Wednesday, November 22nd, at the hospital from 6:00-9:00 PM. For more information call the birth center at 647-6321.

Park Street Christian Church will hold a Thanksgiving Eve Service on Wednesday, November 22nd, at 7:00 PM at the church. 

The deadline to nominate someone for this year's Richland Center Athletic Booster Club Hall of Fame is Wednesday, November 22nd. 

St. John's Lutheran Church in Richland Center will host a Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, November 23rd from 11:00-2:00 at the church. Carry-outs will be available for those within a two mile radius of Richland Center from 11:00-12:00. The deadline for ordering a meal for delivery is at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, November 22nd and may be made by calling 647-3000. There is no charge for the dinner but a freewill offering will be taken. Proceeds from the dinner will go to local organizations fighting hunger and homelessness in Richland County. Sign-up sheets are located at Richland Hills, Ridgeview Commons, and the Park Hotel Apartments for their residents.

Thursday, November 23

Due to a death in the family the Christmas Crafts In the Village event in Rockbridge scheduled for Saturday, November 25th has been cancelled. The next Christmas Crafts In The Village will take place on December 2nd from 9:00-4:00.

United Church of Muscoda Presbyterian will serve a community Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, November 23rd at 12:00 at the church. Carry-outs will be available from 11:00-11:30. RSVP by calling 739-3933 with the number attending. Money raised will go to the Muscoda Food Pantry.

The Grant County Holiday Project is collecting "Toys for Tots."  The drop-off location is the Grant County Social Services Building in Lancaster. Christmas items will be packed from December 1st through December 19th.

Applications for the Smiles For A Child holiday program are available at Richland County Health and Human Services. Applications will be available through Monday, November 27th.

The AD German Warehouse Conservancy is selling holiday raffle tickets. Money raised from the raffle will help support the Frank Lloyd Wright designed AD German Warehouse in Richland Center. Tickets are $10 each with winners being drawn every day through the month of December. Tickets may be purchased at Added Touch Floral & Gifts, Kelly's Coffee House, Richland Family Prescription Center, Walsh's Ace, and Wallace, Cooper & Elliott Insurance in Richland Center, Prem Meats and Pamela's Fine Jewelry in Spring Green and from conservancy board members. Only 2000 tickets are being sold. The deadline to purchase your ticket is November 27.

Friday, November 24

The 22nd annual Twinklefest will be held on Friday, November 24th in Viroqua. A free screening of the movie "Elf" will be shown at 3:00 PM at the historic Temple Theatre. There will also be an open house at the Viroqua Visitor Center at 5:00 PM and a light parade on Main Street at 7:00 PM.

Saturday, November 25

The 37th Annual Weston Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, November 25th from 9:00-3:00 at Weston High School in Cazenovia. The event is sponsored by the Weston Music Department & Weston FFA. There will be door prizes, a bake sale, live music, over 80 vendors, and more.  Admission is free.

Monday, November 27

The Richland Hospital will offer free blood pressure checks on Monday, November 27th from 12:00-4:00 PM at the hospital. For more information call 647-6321.

Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will hold a distribution at Ss. Anthony and Phillip Church in Highland on Monday, November 27th at 4:30 PM.

Symons Recreation Complex will hold an Ugly Sweater Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, December 2nd. Check-in is at 4:30 PM at the Symons Recreation Complex. The walk/run will start at 5:30 PM. After the run there will be soup available for those taking part to warm up. To learn more about registering for the event call 647-8522.

Tuesday, November 28

The Richland Hospital will hold its linen sale Tuesday, November 28th and Wednesday, November 29th in the lower level of the Richland Hospital. Hours for Tuesday's sale will be from 7:00-5:00 and Wednesday from 7:00-2:00.

The Thrift Shop will hold a board meeting on Tuesday, November 28th at 2:00 PM at the shop.

The Richland Hospital Smart Recovery Support Group will meet on Tuesday, November 28th, from 7:00-8:30. The addiction support group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Richland Hospital. No pre-registration is required for the group. For more information call 647-6321.

Wednesday, November 29

Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will hold a distribution in Gays Mills on Wednesday, November 29th, at 2:00 PM at the Gays Mills Community Building.

The River Valley School District will hold a planning workshop to help the district address the direction that the schools should take moving forward. The first set of workshops will be held on Wednesday, November 29th and Thursday, November 30th. The Wednesday workshop will be held at the River Valley Early Learning Center Gymnasium from 7:00-9:00 PM, and the Thursday workshop will run from 7:00-9:00 PM and take place at the Arena Community Elementary Gymnasium.

Saturday, December 2

The First Lutheran Church in Lone Rock will hold a holiday bake shop and bazaar on Saturday, December 2nd. The event will also include a Scandinavian breakfast 8:00-10:30. Everyone is welcome to attend.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Muscoda will host a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 2nd from 9:00-2:00 at St John's Gym. There will be a luncheon, bake sale, crafts, more at the event.

The New Lisbon Lioness Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, December 2nd from 9:00-2:30 at New Lisbon Schools. There will be crafts, a lunch stand, cookies and door prizes. Spring Green Community Church will host a cookie walk, craft Fair and luncheon on Saturday, December 2nd from 9:00-3:00 at the church. Cookies by the pound, and gifts for all ages will be available. Containers will be provided for the cookies. A meatball sub sandwich lunch will be served from 11:00-1:00. Live carols will be performed from 9:00-10:30.

The Kickapoo Valley Reserve will host a holiday program on Saturday, December 2nd from 1:00-7:00 PM at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve Visitor Center. The day will include musical performances from Driftless area music groups, including a bell choir, carolers, high school band and the group Whisky Chicken. There will also be a cookie walk, carving demonstration, crafts sale, and more. A meal will be served from 4:30-6:30. Cost for the meal is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Sunday, December 3

First Congregational Church in Hillsboro will host a Christmas Bazaar on Sunday, December 3rd from 10:30-2:00 at the church. There will be crafts, a bake sale, quilt show and lunch. Take outs will be available.

Monday, December 4

Tuesday, December 5

The community of Lone Rock will hold a blood drive on Tuesday, December 5th, from 12:00-5:00 at the Lone Rock Community Center.

Thursday, December 7

Richland County Salvation Army Host a Family will hold its drop off day on Thursday, December 7th from 8:00-6:00 at the Lighthouse Chapel. Gift distribution will take place on Saturday, December 9th. For more information call 649-5825.

"Look Good, Feel Better," a program sponsored by the American Cancer Society to teach female cancer patients beauty techniques during chemotherapy and radiation treatment will be held on Thursday, December 7th at the Richland Hospital. Time is set by appointment. The program is free, however registration is required by 4:30 on Wednesday, December 6th. To sign up call Rita at 647-6096. 

Friday, December 8

The Woman's Relief Corp W. H. Bennett unit 71 will hold a meeting on Friday, December 8th at 11:00 AM at the Richland Center White House. Those attending are asked to bring Christmas cards for the group to sign to give to veterans. The group will also exchange gifts. Gifts are not to exceed $15. All members are encouraged to attend.

Saturday, December 9

The Avoca Christmas Craft Show and Bake Sale will be held on Saturday, December 9th from 9:00-2:00 at the Avoca Village Office. The building is handicap accessible. The Betty Hayes Dancers will perform at 12:30.

Santa will be at the Lone Rock Community Building during the Festival of Lights on Saturday, December 9th from 10:00-12:00.

The Boscobel Community Empty Stocking fundraiser will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 2:30 PM at Pat and Greg's Pour House. Donations may be taken to the Pour House on Thursday, December 7th and Friday, December 8th. Donations will also be taken Saturday morning before 9:00 AM. Those looking to help volunteer for the event are to call Stan at 375-9108 or Kempert at 391-0143.

Wednesday, December 13

The annual VFW Post 2267 and Auxiliary Tomah VA fundraiser will take place on Wednesday, December 13th, from 9:00-3:00 at the Richland County Bank. Personal comfort items being accepted include shampoos, combs, brushes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, non slip socks, gloves, nail clippers, lip balm, lotions. Cash donations are welcomed.

The W.H. Bennett unit #71 Woman's Relief Corp will meet on Friday, January 12th at 11:00 AM at Schmitt Woodland Hills in the downstairs "Community" Room. All members are encouraged to attend.
