The Field of 5000 has made it's way to Viola. The flags will be displayed Friday, September 19th along State Highway 131 across the bridge on the left going out of Viola.
Ithaca School Fair Exhibits will be received in the High School Gym from Noon-6:00 on Friday, September 19. Judging will begin at 6:30 pm. School will have an early release at 1:00 pm.
The 84th Annual Viola Horse & Colt Show will take place Friday night and Saturday, September 19th and 20th. Enjoy Cash raffle, with a $5000 Grand Prize, a carnival, arts & crafts show, horse pull and more. The parade will take place at 1:00 on Saturday, and a free Country Music Dance by Monty Berger and Country Gold Band from 6:00 - 10:00 pm.
The RCHS Cheerleaders will be displaying and raffling off several different gift baskets at the home game on Friday, September 19th. Cost is $2 a ticket or 3 tickets for $5. The gift baskets will also be displayed at the Homecoming game on Friday, October 10th, where the names will be drawn and announced at Half Time of the Homecoming game.
The 2014 fund drive for the Richland County United Givers has begun to support 30 local organizations. A tax-deductible donation can be sent to Richland County United Givers, PO Box 228, Richland Center, WI 53581.

Otter Creek Lutheran Church in Highland will host its Annual Autumn Auction on Saturday, September 20th. Dinner will be served from 11:00 - 1:00 and the auction will start at 1:00 pm. Funds raised will help offset expenses for maintenance and upkeep of the church.
The 40 et 8 Locomotive will be leaving for the Viola Horse and Colt Show on Saturday, September 20 between 11:15 and 11:30 am, as the parade starts at 1:00 pm with line up about Noon. Voyageurs Militaire should meet at the Richland Center American Legion.
The Muscoda Chamber of Commerce Fall Opener will be held Saturday evening, September 20 at St. John's Gym in Muscoda. This is the Chamber's major fundraising event of the year. Tickets are available at Jo-Den's Shell or Community First Bank in Muscoda.
Knights of Columbus Bingo will be held on Saturday, September 20th at 7:30 pm at the Richland Community Center. All are welcome.
The 58th Annual Chicken BBQ at Immaculate Conception in Boscobel will take place on Sunday, September 21 from 11:00 - 2:00. Adults are $10.00, children 5 to 12 are $5.00, children under 5 are free. Mass will be held at 9:30 am. There will be free rides and games for children all day, a raffle drawing, bingo, bean bag tournament and coed volleyball.
The Richland Hospital will offer free blood pressure checks on Monday, September 22nd from Noon - 4:00 pm.
The Richland Museum & Visitor Center is holding a coloring contest for all ages September 2-30. Entries can be picked up at the depot, City Hall, or Brewer Library and returned to the depot Monday-Saturday from 10:00 - 3:00. Prizes for three age groups will be announced October 1.

Sauk County will host an Ag Plastics Recycling on Wednesdays from September 24 - October 29 at the Sauk County Highway Shop in Baraboo. Recycle your silage bags, bunker covers, net wrap, bale wrap, plastic feed bags, and hoop film for free by bringing them in supersacks or loose between 10:00 and Noon. Supersacks can be picked up at Reedsburg Farmer’s Cooperative United Cooperative, Blain’s Farm & Fleet Hohl Farm Supply Inc., Lime Ridge Agri Supply and McFarlane’s Manufacturing.

The Driftless Spoon Gathering 2nd Annual Event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 27 and 28th at the La Farge Village Park. Cost of the event is $10, or $20 for families. In this two-day skills sharing event, spoon carvers will gather to show their spoons, and share their techniques, stories and spoon blanks. A potluck will take place Saturday night at the Village Park and a Contra Dance at 8:00 pm at the La Farge Village Hall. The 40 et 8 will be traveling with the Locomotive to the Gays Mills Apple Fest Parade on Sunday, September 28. The Locomotive will leave the Richland Center Americna Legion at 11:30 am. The parade starts 1:30 with line up at 12:30.
The Fennimore Doll and Toy Museum will be holding a tent sale on Sunday, September 28 on the grounds of the Doll and Toy Museum. Proceeds will go to replace siding on the museum.
The Iowa County Chapter of Wisconsin Right to Life will have a Pizza Hut Fundraiser in Dodgeville on Monday, September 29th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. A portion of every buffet meal goes to support the group.
